I hate to write a bad review but last Friday night was a very unpleasant experience. I have been eating there for years. I actually ate there a few months ago and it was fine. However, I took out of town guests to eat there last night and I was embarrassed that I had suggested eating there. One of the entrees wasn't ready until our meal was completely over and we canceled it. My appetizer was forgotten. One of the entrees came in the middle of the meal. There were maybe 4 other tables in the whole restaurant so they weren't busy. The food quality and presentation were mediocre. The waitress was nice and seemed rightfully exasperated with the kitchen. Again, I hate writing such a negative review but they need to get their act together if they want to retain their customers.
I've dined at Hunan since the old man opened in an old gas station. The food was consistently good. He's passed away and the restaurant has teetered on the edge of quality since the founders demise. I got takeout tonight for me and my wife. Her pepper steak was very gristley and barely edible. I got scallop and prawns. Laughably bad if you weren't hungry. The " scallops" were leathery little plugs making me suspicious of their origin. The prawns were tiny tasteless shrimps. Both types of egg rolls were tasted and remained uneaten. My wife said the pork fried rice wasn't bad. They once had a very good reputation for food and service. If the right person takes charge before it's too late maybe it can return to it's old glory.
Nasty. Just nasty. We got there late in the day 1:30 so the buffet was basically done. I made the mistake of getting a plate anyway-it was old and tired. I had them remove from bill. The tables were nasty dirty, dishes on other tables and ONE poor waitress trying to keep up with 5-6 tables in a large restaurant. My husband and aunt ordered from menu. I tasted my aunt's -it was okay, nothing great. Same with husband.I ordered from their menu b/c I was hungry. It took FOREVER to come out (with only 6 tables) and it was cold and not correct. I would expect a dish I waited 20+ min on to be piping hot. Plus what was advertised on the menu. The poor waitress barely understood or spoke English plus with her mask, very difficult to understand her. Will never go again.
They over charged me by taking a tip on a pick up.The chicken was over cooked and tough. The rice was plain.Just a terrible meal for what I paid. Which came up to 46.00 for 2 people.I will never go back mess with them again.I suggest y'all do the same
Decent place to eat buffet Chinese. Not a huge selection but always decent.
Outstanding tastes. Shrimp toast and egg rolls are the best
Food was cold and stale. Unbelievable. Difficult to describe how bad this experience was. Walked in and it smelled sour and the floor, tables and chairs were sticky. There was a piece of rice stuck in my wife's "clean" fork. My father in law pulled a very long hair from his food. Server blamed it on the egg roll company, and I think it actually did come from the egg roll. As a concession they took half off his bill only. $175 for absolute dog food. First time I remember leaving a buffet hungry. I'm being literal. Very nice servers and staff, appalling food and lack of cleanliness.
The buffet is very good. service also very good
Food is good. I’ve been eating at/from Hunan since they were on North Blvd. My main issue is that they cannot manage to get their online prices to match what is on the in restaurant menu. The last three times that I have ordered, the total from the online order was $4-$5 less than I was actually charged. When I addressed this with the manager, they said that they were having trouble contacting the online provider to update the prices. If you can’t get your prices updated on the online ordering services, remove the link to that sight from your website. Stop making excuses. My other issue. When they updated their prices the last time, they renumbered their lunch specials. I ordered #4 on the site Mongolian Beef. Instead, they tried to give the new #4 Moo Goo Gai Pan. I saw the make receipt with the wrong item and pointed it out. At first she argued, then saw that they screwed up and made the correct item.
The food is very good and they are so polite
