Arrived at 11:30 and had a 50 minute wait.Food was amazing as usual. Started with the 3 cheese pimento dip, awesome. Ordered the Boudin hamburger And it did not disappoint.Shared a side of red beans & rice, so good, well seasoned. Then came dessert, lemon curd with blueberry whipped cream!Quality. Good portions. Good wait staff.
My daughter and I had lunch there and everything was absolutely delicious! I had to pause for a moment after taking the first bite of the amazing seafood pot pie! wonderful!!! loved the strawberry pepper jelly vinaigrette on my salad!!! The coconut pie was the best I have ever had! All of the staff were so kind from the person at the front counter to our sweet, attentive waiter! So excited to go again when I am in town!
Really good food options for everyone, even the kids menu is good, and prices were reasonable. They were nice enough to provide the little kids crayons and coloring pages which they enjoyed. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, seems to be pretty popular but not a lot of seating so the place can fill up fast. They offer online payment, easy as scanning a QR code, add a tip, and pay - done! If you walk there, the entrance is in the back and you can get there by walking down the alley on the left of the building.
I dined for dinner with my husband and three children. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My two older children ordered the children's fried catfish with fries. My younger child had a burger and fries. All were cooked well and offered plenty in portion size.My husband enjoyed the Natchitoches Meat Pies and fried okra while I opted for the crawfish hand pies and red beans and rice. They were both phenomenal.For dessert we enjoyed the Cream Soda float and S'mores pie. Yum!
This is the spot!!!So glad I got to try out Elsie’s during my time in LA being that it was definitely one of the best overall meals I had during my 10 day work trip. Knowing that Elsie’s was a pie place it was a definite safe bet to get a pie and that is what I did. It was amazing. I also ordered the queso with cajun shrimp in it that comes with pork grinds for chips and that was super fresh and fantastic. I even ordered a smores pie to go and that was AMAZING. This place could do no wrong. They were packed when we walked in and that is another tell tale sign that they know what they’re doing. Keep up the great work Elsie’s and staff.
The service and food at Elsie's is usually pretty good but tonight the service was horrible and food was not up to their standard. After initially taking our order our waitress disappeared. After over 30 minutes with no attention (water glasses empty) and no appetizer (queso) I went by the kitchen and asked a waitress about it who abruptly told me the kitchen's busy, then they brought out the queso which had been sitting under a light. I asked to talk to a manager who just quietly listened to our story and said they had power issues earlier and system issues and didn't know who the queso was for. A different, competent waitress was assigned to the table which helped but the burgers were dry and onion rings were greasy and the order took about an hour and the burgers seemed to have been under a lamp. No follow-up by the manager. Gave the competent waitress a cash tip for her efforts. A disappointing birthday night for my wife and since it was my son and his girlfriend's first visit they probably won't be back. No offer for any comp or any apology...disappointing and hopefully not a trend.
My wife and I ate at Elsie's tonight. We were seated at a table across from the bar. The bartender, bearded and wearing glasses, came over to get our drink orders and promised he'd be back shortly with water and tea. All was well up to that point. My wife finished her iced water and I finished by iced tea before the bearded wonder showed back up to take our order. He refilled the beverages and left. About 10 minutes later, our fried okra appetizer appeared = Exceptionally delicious and a great remoulade dipping sauce. About the time we finished the okra, my wife's bleu cheese side salad came out via another server who was also working the bar. My ordered big blue side salad never appeared. Our entree's arrived about 15 minutes later and the bartender left quickly. Everything was delicious and then we waited and waited. People also seated across from the bar had their drinks about the time we started our entrees. We had fully finished eating before said bearded wonder showed up to take their food orders. Again, speedy filled our beverages and asked if we would be getting dessert. We replied no and simply asked for the bill. When the bill appeared, it was wrong. However it was wrong to our favor because speedy had charged me for a much less expensive entree and there was no charge indicated for my ordered salad that never came. I, like many others worked in college as a waiter and a bartender. Ergo, I am sympathetic to servers and am known to add gratuities between 20 & 25%. Speedy got 10% of the cheaper and incorrect bill. Additionally, we stopped at another place for our dessert. With the experience of extremely poor service, we did not order our beloved pie at Elsie's. We wanted to be home before midnight.
Enjoyed a lunch on our way through town to Texas. Delicious seafood pot pie, side salad with amazing dressing, fabulous eye of the tiger pie. Fantastic!
We tried your place out on Sunday and it was nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere was very unique... your employees were outstanding which to me says a lot about a place! Everyone greeted us that came into eyesight. Even though it was extremely busy! We ordered two appetizers Bc of all the recommendations from friends and our waiter The crawfish dip with pork skins and the pimento cheese which could have only come from someone truly has a passion for putting ingredients together that I would have never thought of! Our entrees were the seafood pot pie and a bbq burger AMAZING and then as if that weren’t enough food we ordered dessert AND proceeded to order an entire pie to bring home to share!! My only disappointment today was that I had not tried your restaurant until yesterday. We will most certainly be back Keep up the extraordinary standards you are setting for the restaurant industry!! You guys knocked it out the park!! And please tell your staff front and back of the house GREAT JOB GUYS WE ENJOYED THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE
Delicious food, great service and hip atmosphere! We enjoyed the seafood pie, salad, home fries and the avocado egg stuff on bread sandwich.
