I have purchased several hundred of dollars of products from the west end store over the last two years. Even bringing others with me to buy. We've enjoyed everything I’ve purchased, so much so I decided I would order gift baskets for some customers and shipped. I placed the order online December 13th and they weren’t shipped until December 21st saying it would take up to five days to arrive.. That was a big problem not delivered before Christmas before my customers office closed for the holidays. The three gift baskets were never delivered, so I called Chris’s to inquire why and how we could resolve this issues. Either replace or refund all I asked. I was told UPS didn’t guarantee their delivery and they would have to check it out and call me back. That’s it was going to be a big problem. The person didn’t seem like he was very interested in helping and I never received a call back. Needless to say, they’ve lost a very good customer and I’ve turned it over to my credit card to handle.
We paid $16 for six crawfish meat pies and basically we got puffed up pastry shells with a whole lot of trinity in it and a few teeny weeny crawfish. We've gone to Chris' many times in the past 10 years and it was always excellent. I don't know what has happened but quality has certainly gone down and we won't be back.
The selection is un matched and they package everything so its easy to freeze if you want to save some for anotherday. I always buy extra especially the brisket, chicken, and fillet tips!
I have to say these people are great and know how to do business right. Last year I ordered a whole pig and it wasn’t a good pig when I got home. When I called not only were they very sorry for the inconvenience because I was doing this for 40 people on NYE the refunded me all my money and offered me anything I needed to make it right. I ordered a pig again this year from them and not only did Adam give it to me on the house he also gave me some rice dressing I was trying to buy from them. Adam kept his word and even remembered me from last year. Not only am I impressed with his professionalism but all the ladies behind the counter were supper nice and very helpful. I RECOMMEND EVERYONE CHECK THIS PLACE OUT.. First class service and great variety of meats.. Thanks again Adam you have earned my business forever.!!
The boudin stuffed chicken was amazing! Good eatin
They have the best selections of meats, seafood, spices, even their candy. I tried the chicken cracklin's and they are unbelievable. I got all my holiday foods here this year.
Tried Chris’s in Frisco. The boudin is delicious. Can’t wait to try the other things we purchased.
This place is awesome! From Boudin to steak they have what you want! We loaded up on all kinds awesome stuff and the prices are great! The steaks we got were so tender you could cut with a fork!
While I understand it may be out of the businesses control, there have been some pretty significant changes to a large portion of the food recently, so much so that I no longer eat at Chris' Specialty Foods. There have been pretty obvious changes to the gumbo, the rue tastes a bit burnt and the gumbo itself has a heavy amount of ground pepper present that makes eating the gumbo unejoyable. The stuffed potatoes have gone soggy and watery, and their taste has changed significantly as well. What used to be buttery and cheesy has become a bit bland. And last but not least, the red beans and rice used to be a creamy texture, but have turned into a watery grainy bean soup that pools liquid when boiled and added to rice. While I totally respect and understand that my tastes aren't universal, members of my family have noticed the same issues as well.Hope this isn't taken off as offensive or rude, I'm a long time customer and fan of Chris'. I wish you the best of luck in business, God bless.
The stuffed chicken with rice and shrimp and the chicken cracklin was good also going back
