I’m am thrilled to say that i just indulged in the Best Barbecued Ribs in BR! Juicy, and so tender the meat literally slides deliciously from the bone! The delightful smoked taste, is like that from a favorite uncles backyard,Not an average restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient!Loretta Toussant
Sorry I didn't take pictures, but the food is crazy good. Best bbq I've ever had in BR. And they give a lot! Its a nice atmosphere, too.
We came in at around 1:30 on Saturday afternoon. There were no other customers in sight. The waitress brought the drinks out and disappeared for about ten-fifteen minutes. We heard the staff giggling and running around the kitchen but no one came back to take the order. When she finally came back and took the rest of the order the food came out fairly quickly. However, the chicken was way overcooked, it didn’t taste right, and in fact tasted like it was prepared several days ago and put back on the pit. It was inedible. Mac’n cheese tasted reheated too. When it was time to pay the bill, they claimed their internet was down and if we could pay at it least in part by cash. It sounded fishy. If it is really down, you shouldn’t be able to take any payment. We ended up paying by cash but the waitress didn’t even offer a copy of the receipt. The owner needs to be aware of these things going on. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and it’s unfortunate because the brisket is still very good, but it’s not worth the trouble.
Food went way downhill once Finn left. Do not recommend. Zero stars wasn’t an option.
Ribs, potatoes and beans were really good. Plate presentation was a bit to be desired. Food was good!
The BBQ is the main seller here, but that's about it.Pretty sure the sides are canned. The Frito pie was "meh" as an appetizer.I've had worse, but I've also had better...
stopped by for lunch, WOW! very clean, friendly staff, food was AMAZING. definitely 5star
I’m not sure where all the stellar reviews are coming from but our night out was surreal. I don’t know if they were experiencing post hurricane blues (two weeks later) but upon arrival we were told they were out of brisket and chicken white meat. Of course two thirds of the menu was brisket and chicken so all that was left was pulled pork and hamburgers. Not a problem because pulled pork is my jam. However, the nachos were literally lukewarm football concession stand nachos with pulled pork on top sprinkled with jalapeños, probably from a jar. Then the hamburger order was colossally messed up when I received my wife’s burger that looked like the burger I ordered and she was given an entirely different burger that she didn’t order but we were told otherwise. Very strange. And this “famous” side order of fried potatoes in a cup really can’t be described. Top it all off our waitress verbally told us the amount of our bill and asked if we wanted to tip her and how much because something was wrong with the system, just crazy weird. Normally I don’t take the time to write reviews but this place came recommended by a good friend so I feel they need to know that something isn’t working as well as it was. Could be a pre/post hurricane Ida issue but clearly they’ve taken a turn for the worse.
GREAT barbecue!!! GREAT service!!! Brisket is fork tender. Ribs are fall off the bone. Sausage had perfect texture & taste. Love the sauces! You won't be disappointed.
We are used to Texas BBQ and tried many places in the Baton Rouge area and always came up disappointed. Heard great things about bayou smokehouse and finally got around to trying it and it is excellent. We’ve already been back multiple times and we’ve never gone to any other BBQ place here more than once. Highly recommend!
