Best cheeseburger and fries combo I have had in years! True comfort food.
food is great and the server is the same one that's been there for years so the consistency of the service is always the same and did I mention the food is fantastic I love the server she's amazing and the price is definitely affordable my go-to spot for a great cheeseburger the decor could use a little bit of updating but I think that's the hometown vibe that they're going for it doesn't look like it's been changed much since the 50s but everything else is excellent definitely one of the best breakfast places in burger places in Alexandria unfortunately the hours are not always available and only breakfast and lunch is served they close so early
4-22-22 came for lunch for the 1st time.I always wanted to come here but never had the time.The food that I had: roast beef with potato salad was okay. The roast beef seemed like it was something packaged in teriyaki sauce that was served--it didn't taste like anything the cafe took pride in serving customers. The same goes for the brown gravy that was just probably a powder mix, too.Maybe I should have just ordered some sort of burger for the late lunch at 1ish.One-and-done for me.Maybe my expectations were too high, especially since my dinner guest and I were supposed to try another restaurant in the area (but it was closed because of John's birtday).It is what it is. The folks seem nice here, though..I will credit them for that.
Very old Cafe really in need of updating. Food was subpar and took forever for eggs bacon and hash hashbrowns with two pieces of toast. But locals swear by it. Wasn't what I expected for a down south breakfast. The two stars is because it is In walking distance to a Tesla charger.

Had to try their chicken fried steak sandwich because a couple of co-workers said that it was good. I was impressed with the size of the chicken fried steak and it had a nice crunch on it. It wasn't seasoned well and only one slice of tomato. My fries didn't have any seasoning on them.
Food wa great as always. Always feel like you in the kitchen of family there.

Too expensive for so little. And customer service was ok despite the stuffy environment!
