Passing through Alexandria and wanted Cajun food for lunch. Saw the great reviews, and they were right! Lots of food and it was delicious. The smothered chicken was tender and the flavor was amazing. Even our 2 teenage boys liked it! And what a nice treat to get both cornbread and a piece of cake with each plate. The staff was very friendly and the rustic atmosphere was nice.

More food than we could possibly eat but every bite was so tasty. We all chose the baked chicken for our entrée - it was fall of the bone, tender and finger licking good - with a nice hint of spicy. The yams were delightful as were the mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese . All served with cornbread and a piece of cake. I am not a big cake fan nor chocolate but this yellow cake with a light chocolate icing was so tasty I could not stop breaking off one bite after another.

Crawfish Etouffe over Rice and Fried Shrimp , divine. Sure it’s just plate lunch, but the cook could be doing fine dining in New Orleans. A Gem!

The food here was amazing! I honestly think their fried shrimp was the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch on our way through Alexandria. What a treat! Food was excellent and service was wonderful. We both had chicken - one smothered, one baked. Very tasty. Choice of three sides each , plus cornbread and a piece of cake. Sides were perfect- mashed potatoes, green beans, cabbage, mac&cheese. We left full and happy. Highly recommend this if you are in the area

I got Red beans and rice with mac and cheese! They were really good. Enough for 2 meals ! The employees are always polite and everything taste like it was made with flavor and love! The meat loaf is awesome too!! I'm not a big cabbage person but I do enjoy their's. It's a little pricey but for 2 meals worth I will pay.

The etouffe' is on point!! When you partake of the mac-n-cheese, you will be CHANGED!! The food tastes like your mawmaw just made you a plate on Sunday after church! I don't know if they put the bayou in a bowl, but they did give me soul food in a sack! I would have given them 10?

We went for lunch. On the day we visited, there were four or five main dishes and a number of sides. You choose a main dish and three sides. Lunch comes with cornbread and cake. Our main dish was smothered pork chops (excellent) and our sides were collard greens (the weakest link), broccoli rice casserole (very good) and mashed potatoes (very good). I haven’t found a cornbread that I like better than mine, and Pam’s is no exception. But this was one of the best lunches of our trip and there was more than enough for two to share.

The staff were really nice...I was in town from Seattle and several people named Pamela's as the place to get good food. I literally ordered one of everything except the cabbage and yams. The red beans were delicious, the cornbread was sweet & good! The fried pork chops and smothered chop were good. I will be back.

I work out of town and Pamela’s is my go to place right when I come home. The food is so so amazing and comforting. Highly recommended.
