Everything is DIFFERENT and not for the better! You order on a kiosk when you go in, you get your own drinks, condiments, napkins all from the front counter yourself (ketchup/napkins used to sit on the tables). The fries were cold and the meat was way overcooked. It just doesnt have the same welcoming atmosphere as before! I understand with Covid and all the changes that are necessary but this has completely taken Steak 'n Shake downhill.

This location should go train with the Lexington store, and see how they make the food consistently good and fresh, it's hit and miss on food being good at this location. Late night grocery shopping so we stopped for 2 BBQ burgers and a side of onion rings, we're just a few minutes away from home. Very disappointed hamburgers were dripping in grease and onion rings were cold and mushy you could ring the grease out of them. I ate 1/2 a nasty onion ring and about half my greasy burger. $15.00 for garbage, yes garbage we threw it in the trash. From now on when we want steak and shake we'll stop in at Lexington. My realtor had said the same thing, she finished showing houses and stopped by basically had the same opion. Every location should have the same standards!! You got 2 stars because the staff is usually friendly:)

Hadn't been since the pandemic started but this company has adjusted amazingly well. It's odd without servers at your table but I really like the way they have made the adjustments. The manager and other lady who checked in on us were very hospitable and we appreciate you all. Great job.. ??

I love the double garlic burger. Its awesome!! The service here is always great. They are nice and accommodating. The service is pretty quick and the prices are good for what you get.

I visited the Richmond,KY (Colby Dr)location. Burger was delicious. Orders had to be placed on a kiosk or via drive thru. Drinks are given to customers from behind the counter. My only disappointment is that I couldn't order well done fries without salt on the kiosk. Nor did I see sweet tea on the menu.

I like Steak ‘n Shake but they really need to work on getting the order correct. I know mistakes happen occasionally, but it’s every time. I can’t stand sauces, at all. I love the frisco melts but I can’t do the sauce whatsoever so I order it without the sauce and they always put it on anyway. I have tried ordering online and at the drive thru both and I just can’t get this without the sauce as I ask. I would eat Steak ‘n Shake more often if this wasn’t an issue.

We used to go to Steak n Shake every week when our boys were small (oldest is 17 now). We started trying other places as they grew, but would still come back every so often. It's probably been before the pandemic that we were here last and so much has changed. Gone are the days of a wait staff and any kind of personable experience. Now, when you walk in you're greeted with Kiosks where you can put in your own order. The selection of food has diminished to a few burgers, one kind of hot dog, and chili. And the obligatory list of shakes, likely only still here because it's in the name. Worst part is, prices are higher. MUCH HIGHER.Food and service... My wife was looking for a salad, but there were no salads. She ordered a hot dog with relish. When we got the food, there was no relish. The kitchen person I got the attention of said he's not sure why that's still on the menu since they didn't have any in store. I ordered a large fry with cheese and got a basket of fries and a small cup of cheese on the side. We were also missing a buffalo sauce (extra $) that we had ordered. We ordered two butter burgers, but one of the burgers looked like it was missing the butter. And my oldest ordered a medium fry, but none of the baskets looked like they had any more fries than any other, so I'm not sure why we paid more for it.For all the complaining, I ordered the garlic butter burger and it was good. My boys liked their burgers ok. My wife isn't a fan of hot dogs, but she didn't complain out loud.Bottom line, prices were at least 50-70% higher for fewer options and a self-serve atmosphere.I'll be honest, this new Steak n Shake might be ok for the drive thru, but for dine in go somewhere else.NOTE: There's no jalapeño crunch burger. So if that was your favorite, go to Wendy's and get theirs. It's pretty good.

They were so wonderful to me i felt like I was at home with them all and I really hated to leave but when I did have to go everyone there gave me high five and wished me good luck on my journey and with my teary eyes I thank them all for being so kind and bringing me lots of happiness in my life.I know I'm going to miss them all very much ?

I'm not one to criticize restaurants unless it is beyond bad because I understand that mistakes can happen. I ordered pickup from the website (pre-paid). Got it home and what we thought were shakes were just soda, the chili was nothing but meat, beans, and grease, and everything was room temperature. It was inedible. I attempted to contact the restaurant to no avail. Number didn't work. No way to contact store without driving back across town. We threw it out and ordered Cook Out through Colonel Delivery. We will never be back and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. A waste of $22+ that neither of us were able to eat. I am mainly leaving this review in hopes that somehow I can get my money back since there was no other way to contact them.

Stopped in drive thru for a garlic burger. There was no garlic salt at all on the bun, & no garlic spread. I asked for crunchy onions on my burger, didn’t get that either. By the time I got home, 5 min drive at most, my food was cold as if it had been sitting for 20 min. Disappointed.
