I prefer the menu over the buffet, but to each his own. They now have Birria tacos! They were really good and their hot salsa is great.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in town. Me and my galfriends always go here! Now I will warn you, if you get a margarita you’ll have to drink a water before you leave! But the food is great and the drinks are strong! 10/10 every time!

The food here is just amazing. I got the El Mejor fajitas and the chicken nachos. Was three of us with three meals and a appetizer with a total price below sixty dollars. I hear they have a buffet on the week days and look forward to trying that out as well. This is a decent little restaurant in a dying mall. Only thing I didn't like was the glass light above the table was covered in dust which could potentially fall into food. Get them lights above the tables cleaned!
The service has been horrible every time I have been here. I would understand if it was busy. But being 1 of 2 groups in the restaurant, I should at least get refills while I wait 30 minutes for my food. The food is delicious, which is why I gave 2 stars.
Buffet makes for a great deal. Without the buffet it’s my number two restaurant based on portions & taste. But the buffet makes it the best deal in town for only $10 and your drink!!
I absolutely love this place, great food with great flavor, I dont like bland Mexican food, never get bland food here...I have tried every Mexican restaurant in Madison co.I always get great service!!!
I picked up an order for doordash.I didnt eat there my self today.. but I do request them if you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant.
I personally believe it is the best Mexican Resteraunt in Richmond and that's because I've never had anything to complain about. Food has always been correct, hot and well prepared and presented. Ive never had to wait to long for a waiter, there is no crazy music playing super loud and it's easy to get in and out. The main thing El Mejor has that other Mexican Resteraunts don't is a buffet. I've never order it myself but it seems very appealing and is something I plan on trying eventually. I just eat a lot of seafood and specialty meals and buffets offer the basics. I know it seems like a very popular choice among other guests. I recommend eating here at least once to try it.
