I really wanted to love this place, but the food we ordered was just not very good. The peppers (appetizer) were basically raw. The French onion and cheddar tart was a tart shell with cold cheddar dip in it. The burger was so so. The only thing our table liked (didn’t love) was the cauliflower tostados. Cocktails were very good. And the service was good too. So, not a terrible experience but not what I’d hoped for.
Great food and great staff. I dropped in without a reservation and was immediately seated. I wouldn’t expect this to always work and recommend a reservation. The pork rind appetizer was wonderful. Fresh rinds with some horseradish dill aioli. The Caesar salad was also tasty. I ordered the pork loin as my main course and it was delicious. The table next to me said I had to try the chocolate cheesecake fluff for dessert, and they were right. I’ll be back again. It was an incredible dinner!
Good, interesting (but severely limited) menu. The server was knowledgeable about both the food and the beers on offer, and was helpful. The dishes we got (grilled meatloaf and grilled Caesar salad) were quite good, and the whole experience merits a return when we’re next in town.
Absolutely perfect in every respect. Seated promptly by a hostess who took the time to ask if I preferred a table or bar seating for my party of one. Comprehensive bourbon list at the bar. Carefully curated beer list. Ordered and received my app promptly (potato leek soup...delicious). Entree followed in good time (braised pork shoulder...highly recommended). Service was attentive. Surrounding diners --all repeat customers-- were vocally enthusiastic about the food. Interior buildout is warm and inviting, with an open kitchen revealing professionals cheerfully plying their trade in a tight unit. 10/10 would visit again. Great choice for date night, a business dinner, or any event where the milieu has to be perfect.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Freight House. All of the food was fresh and unique with amazing flavors. From the appetizer and grilled Caesar salad, to the unexpectedly delicious Carp dinner, through the goat cheese cheesecake dessert - everything was fabulous! And of course, the cocktails were top notch too! If you are anywhere near Paducah, you MUST stop here for dinner!! If you thought small towns can’t/don’t have destination dining options - think again!!
After looking up the top restaurants in Paducah Kentuckythis gem popped up!!!I am so glad that we tried this place out!! All I can say is that this restaurant is definitely worth a 5 ? star. Top notch service.The chef / owner made a stop by our table to talk which was very impressive as to show that her customer's are well worth her time. She was very helpful with different dish recommendations. The pork tenderloin was EXCELLENT!!! ?The steak was absolutely phenomenal. The different tastes that hit your pallet were nice.We will definitely be back to the Freight House. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and great service by our server.
Ate at the bar had no reservation venue was very busy. Several unique food and drink items and service was stellar. Will stop again on our annual trek
A return visit didn't match up to the first time re. my food choices - a tart (tiny) and salad (huge chopped up mediocre). Didn't find the entrees very interesting. My partner, however, raved about his pork and cabbage dish. Wine glasses were spectacular!
Outstanding food! Farm to table is everything you’d want. The Caesar salad was amazing. The light char and breadcrumbs on baby Romain was delicious! I ordered the pot roast lasagna and it was exactly as I expected. Creamy cheese, fresh pasta and with pot roast in lieu of ground beef was delicious. I would definitely eat here again, and order exactly the same thing!! Had the goat cheese cheesecake fluff for dessert and it was very good but needed more strawberries to be excellent. The coffee was too strong so not sure if the server pulled my cup before it was done (I like strong coffee but even with extra hot water I couldn’t drink it)!
Expertly prepared dishes, excellent service, top notch drink menu. Absolutely perfect every time.
