Service was good, but the food wasn't worth the price. The fries were the only thing that we enjoyed, but the portion was small. The fried shrimp was too greasy and the catfish seemed like it had a spong texture. We ordered coconut shrimp and didn't expect it to be coconut battered fried shrimp. something else that was annoying was the upcharge for a side salad. My wife could not choose a salad as her side. She has to order an extra salad for a $4 upcharge, bringing her meal total to $20+ for a small portion of mahi-mahi, broccoli and a small side salad. Our meal total was $62.00 for the three pictured meals. Something else worth noting, we were seated very close to other full tables, when there were plenty of other tables open.
Superb gumbo! Catfish Jubilee and sides all very delicious. Compares to the best we've had in Louisiana.... and that includes the Louisiana native in the party. Prices reasonable. Bonnie was a terrific server!!
Great service and dinner. We had only a few choices for Monday night dinner and this was a great choice. The service was great and prices good for well prepared seafood. It’s a good sized restaurant and bar with nice ocean decor. Not fancy. My shrimp casserole was hot and delicious. My husband had blackened mahi-mahi. There is a big selection of cocktails and less extensive wine and beer. The gumbo is excellent too as were the hush puppies sides.
Excellent and courteous service and friendly attitude. Food was delicious, price was reasonable. Atmosphere was laid back. You won’t regret your decision to see for yourself. I was solo so took advantage of sitting up at bar with both Becky and Jeanie checking on me.
Took my mom here for Mother’s Day. The service was quick and friendly. Food was hot and plentiful. I know the restaurant said they just recently increased their prices, but a few things seemed overpriced. All in all, though, I’d return.
Amazing food and service. Mahi tacos were great as was the grilled mahi. Make sure and leave room for the bread pudding! Homemade
Lunch at Strickland with Tuesday Lunch Buddies. We are missing a couple of ladies due to them traveling or work, but we still had a good time. To me it was very hot in the restaurant but everyone else was comfortable at the table. (Our temperature here in Paducah was jumping from 32 degrees one day to 79 degrees the next day) our meal was very good and the service was great! It was kind of strange to see that the restaurant automatically added a 20% tip to each of our bills. We will go again. They are set up for groups and we could hear ourselves talk.
Great seafood at very reasonable prices. Excellent clam chowder with lots of delicious clams. Fried food was good, not greasy.Bonnie was our server and she provided fantastic service. We gladly drive from Illinois to eat here even though there is a Red Lobster near us.
I really hate to write this review. Over the years my family and I have enjoyed eating here many many times and the food was always consistently fresh and good, until now.To be brutally honest, I was shocked and embarrassed, we had brought a family member from out of town with us.I always order the peel and eat shrimp for an appetizer, it’s usually fresh and delicious. Sadly, everyone at our table took one bite and realized it was bad, myself and partner spit ours out into a napkin. Unfortunately, the meal continued on this way.My dad ordered Mahi-mahi jubilee (the special) it looked like slop on a plate, and didn’t taste much better. The rice in this dish was not cooked (crunchy) over salted and the fish was covered in this stuff, so that’s all you could taste. The two orders of coconut shrimp were flavorless, and the crab legs my daughter order were over cooked not worth what we paid at all.I do not mind at all dropping some money on a good meal, this was just sad to experience and I’m grateful none of us got sick.I’m sure the pandemic, supply chain issues and now inflation are not helping anything I hope they are able to turn things around!
Went for my birthday dinner last night, and it was amazing! I have honestly never heard my husband audibly say, “That was delicious,” after a meal at a restaurant. We had the creole crab bites, fried gator, and the spicy crawfish dip for apps, and WOW! I had grilled shrimp and my husband had the blackened catfish tacos, everything was just so delicious! Our waitress was phenomenal and so very sweet! Will definitely be back to eat very soon! P.S. Mardi Gras Tea ROCKS!
