We arrived with our reservations and was seated promptly. It took a little time for us to receive our salads, like we literally were able to drink a bottle of wine before we received the salads. The oysters were okay, not bad, not good....edible. The salads were good and the vinaigrette was delicious but again, short of spectacular. The wait staff is apparently overworked because although our waiter was personable, service was lacking. Now, for our meals there were 6 of us with 5 different entrees ordered. The highest anyone rated their food was a 7 out of 10. They were all hit and miss with some items being good and some being okay on the plate. Please do not come if you are very hungry and wanting a big meal as their meals are lacking in size but not price. At the end of the night we ordered one of each dessert. The desserts were good although the sugar on the creme brulee was burnt. The waiter offered to get another and I declined as my family had already ate half. It is hard for me to say anything negative about a local place being a local gal but having traveled the world and eating some amazing food, especially in Italy, I would be doing an injustice to give a good rating. If you want good ambiance and decent food this would be a good place to go. For the cost of our meals and the amount of food we ordered I expected better service so my tip reflected this. I would not go here again personally except to get a dessert and a glass of wine.
The restaurant was not very crowded initially and a prior patron from out of town recommended it. We were in town for the quilt show. We had a person in our party who has gluten allergies and the restaurant advertised “Gluten Free” options. When we talked with the waiter, he stated that the chef could make any of the listed entrees gluten free. Then when another waiter came to take our orders he stated that he wasn’t sure which orders could be made gluten free. He said he knew 2 of them for certain were not as they were premade. Our friend then ordered a pasta dish that the server stated was gluten free. When the plates came out they were given to the wrong persons however since we were all at the same table we were able to sort it out. When our friend asked if her pasta was gluten free the server stated she had to check. She returned and stated she was sorry it was not and took the plate away. At which point our friend stated she did not trust the food and she no longer wanted the order it was not worth the risk to her health. We finished our meal and left. It was not a good experience for our party.
Although the food is good, not great but good, avoid at all cost the recommended specials. They’ll push the specials but won’t tell you they are more than TWICE the price of anything on the menu. Definitely not worth it.
The menu options and selection of wines are 5 Star, but reasonably priced. Thumbs up to Cynthia and the very gracious staff who go out of their way to make patrons feel special. Even the decor is beautiful and gives one a feeling of being welcomed at the best restaurant in Paducah, KY. Best wishes for their continued success! Les Lunceford
Wonderful food and wonderful staff!
The prime filet literally melts in your mouth, soo good. Pricey but so worth it
On the rare occasion, I was in my hometown for my birthday and was looking for fine dining to celebrate with family. The place was able to accommodate our reservation, even added seats when needed. The decor was a bit kitschy and all over the place (maybe it was due to the scattered Christmas decor) but the overall vibe was nice. I started with the baked oysters and a bottle of Moet champagne. The oysters were delicious and literally bursting with flavor - I ordered a second round just to share with a few guests! However, at the price of the bottle, I didn’t appreciate that there was no effort to keep it chilled. It took a while to receive our orders, a little over an hour and a half - and the server didn’t check on us much, but when he did, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. When the food did arrive, it was beautifully presented and honestly, DELICIOUS. I had a pasta dish, accompanied with a stuffed chicken as the entree. I raved about it for days after. The salad was fresh and although small in size, it was big in flavor! Some guest also praised the Margherita flatbread as well.Overall, a pleasant experience but a bit overpriced - especially if you have more than one course. However, the food did not disappoint and lived up to its good reviews.
On the road home after a long trip, we lucked into finding this place in downtown Paducah. The 12 table restaurant was booked, but Tory, the bartender extraordinaire, let us sit at the last 2 seats at the bar. Great wine selection and unbelievable menu--with house made pasta and bread. My wife and I both had caesar salads and the angel hair pasta with grilled shrimp. As good as the food and wine was, the convivial atmosphere at the bar with Tory, Cynthia and other patrons made for an outstanding night. Would not hesitate to recommend this gem to anyone in the western KY area. Call ahead to make sure you can get in. Lastly, kudos to the marvelous chef and staff!
Faultless. Awesome ambience, everyone nicely dressed (no flip flops or tshirts here!) and great service from Jordan, a really interesting guy. Food was exceptional. We had the specials: crab-stuffed sea bass and veal marsala. Desserts also excellent!
I am a healthcare business traveler and have recently started traveling to Paducah for work. I stopped in this evening to Cynthia’s Ristorante due to close proximity to my hotel and adorable outside ambiance. It was before 6pm on a chilly Tuesday and the restaurant had at least two large open tables and two open seats at the bar. I was asked if I had a reservation to which I replied no. I then asked if it wasn’t too full, could I squeeze in somewhere. The host/server looked around the room at the multiple empty spaces, looked back at me and said, “looks all full to me”. I was so stunned, I just said thank you and walked away. Hopefully that was just an experience with an awful employee and not a reflection of the entire establishment. Either way, I am not impressed.
