Very clean, even the bathroom. Food was great, everything tasted great and seasoned well. Glass never went empty and staff was very helpful. Owner comes out, greats the guests while managing the waitresses and checking on the food at the buffet. If I had 1 complaint it would be that the fish was cut up into nuggets instead of being full filets. However with it being on a buffet I didn't mind, you could always go get more if you wanted. It did help make the buffet stay cleaner and have a better appearance because the nuggets didn't break with the tongs like bigger pieces do. Overall very happy and will be back.
I've lived in West KY for 25+ years and have never eaten at a restaurant that made me more nostalgic for the sea/southern/soul food restaurants of the gulf coast than Big Ed's! The staff treats you like family and the food (buffet style) is sublime....you will NOT leave hungry. Driving past this unassuming building, you may be tempted to seek a meal near more stores or foot traffic but take my word...Big Ed's is a worth the detour!
We ate here on a Sunday afternoon after church. The highlights for me were the fish, white beans, and some AMAZING bread pudding. Like any buffet, there were some things I didn’t like, but plenty that I did. Also liked that there was no wait (even though they were busy). Very good service from the waitresses. It was very expensive, but so is everything else these days. We will be back, I’m sure

Oh my goodness!! You can't go wrong by choosing Big Ed's. We had the lunch buffet, which was $12.99, and there was sooo much to choose from. All the food was wonderful, all of it was hot OR cold, as it was supposed to be. The trays were kept full even when nearing the 'change over' from lunch to dinner. Very clean, very friendly and helpful workers. Just do it! You'll be back!
You'd almost call this a soul food buffet. Fried chicken, shrimp, and fish; with hush puppies and mashed potatoes and greens and green beans and other items. Sport pepper vinegar is available for the greens (a nice, authentic touch). Everything looks and tastes homemade. Desserts including berry and apple cobbler, bread pudding, a variety of cakes, and soft serve ice cream. Good looking salad bar too. It's very clean inside, with attentive servers and kitchen staff regularly coming out to make sure the buffet is stocked and fresh. Not expensive, either. A great choice for big-time eaters, who will find it a bargain for homestyle southern vittles.

Absolutely, best home cooking in 75 mile radius! Establishment is always super clean, inside and out. You will not find better servers, employees and owners that strive for great food and service for their guests. Love this place!
This was our first time coming and we loved it. First with the food normally my wife has to salt her food but everything had good seasoning and good flavor. Normally buffets have those hard plastic cups, but not this restaurant. Everything just seemed like they took care of it and actually cared about the customers experience. From the glass cups, to the potpourri in the bathroom, to the delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and we even met Big Ed himself. They have widescreen TVs where you can watch TV and two different dining rooms for extra seating. Even the napkins and the dish soap were amazing, to further explain they didn't skip on certain things and that's why I feel like the owner actually took time in their business and actually cares. I feel like it's worth the $12.99 (plus $$ drink) cost, not only did the owner put quite a bit of money into this but they also take a lot of care with their food and it really does show. They offer a buffet, salad bar and a dessert as well. We will be back (even if you are over an hour away) and we plan on bringing our kids too! Thank you so much.
