When me and my boyfriend got there I tried to order something off the menu and they didn’t have it. And when they handed our food I had hair in my food. And when me and my boyfriend wanted to get box’s, my boyfriend stood upfront we’re the cashier was for about 10 minutes. Waiting for someone to give us a box. And I felt sick to my stomach. And on top of that they gave us the wrong food. And the girl at the cash register was not nice.
Worst service I've ever had.1. Initially went because I saw they had gumbo online. Upon ordering it, they did not have it. It was on the menu behind them in large font...2. Cashier obviously hated being there.3. Food brought out to us was incorrect. My girlfriend ordered BBQ chicken, got normal chicken. Me and my girlfriends' sides were all mismatched between what we ordered.. She got a roll, and neither of us ordered that.4. My girlfriend found hair in her wrongly ordered chicken.5. Tried going up to counter to fix things, ghost town. Took 4 minutes for someone to come out of the back where they were hiding.At that point, it had obviously been my worst experience I may have ever had in food service. We threw our hands up, left, and went across the street to eat at Moonlight..
This was my first time trying the restraunt. My first impression was great, the nicest girl named Savannah waited on us and was extremely helpful. Considering I asked her question after question about the food she was so nice and didn't seem annoyed in the least bit. She is a great asset to this company! That girl knows her stuff and has a great personality! She brought our food out to us promptly and made sure everything was correct. The food was really good. Philly cheesesteak was great and the burger was nice and juicy but not greasy. Just right! I definitely will be back because it is so hard these days to find any employees with a personality and even harder to find someone who will work hard, if even at all!! Hopefully the owners will take good care of her and treat her well because she is worth it. If not I would love to have a worker like her at one of my stores!!
Great food. To the ppl that pick up their food an hour after ordering it and want to cry about it...go somewhere else and whine. Sam's is top notch.
I honestly even hate to post this because I truly love to support a locally owned business but I gave this place a try tonight. I was sorely disappointed. I placed an online pickup order. It clearly states on their website estimated pickup time is 30-50 minutes. I arrived at 8:30pm to pick up my food where the young woman at the window stated “You’re just in time, we just bagged it.” My food wasn’t even the slightest bit warm. It had been clearly prepared most likely the minute I placed the order (placed at 7:30pm) and sat in a hot box until I picked it up. The place was completely vacant and all the employees were standing around the counter with all of the chairs stacked neatly on the table. No one was clearly in the kitchen just having finished my order. I know I picked it up an hour later than when I ordered it but I called at 8:10pm (out DoorDashing and running a little longer than anticipated) and spoke with a young woman who assured me my order hadn’t been started yet. It most definitely wasn’t only 20 minutes old. Truly disappointed as a first time customer.
This is a good place to eat for comfort food. The food quality is four star. If you're hungry and you're tired of the same old stuff everywhere else, give these folks a try. My guess is you'll probably be going back.
If you have not tried this resturant yet, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Food is delicious, service is fantastic and friendly, and you get what you pay for. If you leave hungry it is your fault. We tried a little bit of everything and every bit of it was amazing.
Single hamburger ( with the trimmings ) and fries. OMG! So delicious! They should name them cathead hamburgers with fries. Reminder of what Big Dipper use to put out years ago.
Great food cooked at order time.They even had fried green tomatoes. Fantastic
I am so excited that Sam’s has a restaurant in Owensboro now. I have eaten at both restaurant locations in Evansville always delicious!!! And an super excited to try this one I know I won’t be disappointed
