Service was very good and the BBQ was excellent.
Worth the trip. The mac n cheese was a tad salty but no complaints. The meat is fully smoked . Brisket, Sparerib, Mutton (lamb) chunks. Chopped if you prefer. Also, for those who hunt, they will smoked the carcass including turkey, ham , or deer. Be careful with the bbq sauce. The "Hot n Sweet" is amazing in which it sneaks up and have your nose running. Oh , did I mention the nana pudding? On point. For additional 15, I bout a pound lamb chops. Soft ,tender , Deeeeeelicious.
barbeque was good and worker was nice but the sides were the worst.had the coleslaw, baked beans,and Mac and cheese.coleslaw was sour and grounded up so fine you couldn't hardly taste anything, baked beans were okay and the Mac and cheese tasted and look like it came out of a box.
I would not suggest this restaurant.........The BBQ beans flavor was bad recipe.They did not have an enjoyable flavor.The coleslaw was almost mush and the flavor was rough also. My wife couldn't eat hers either.I enjoy cooking and have a nitch for good food from whatever State I'm in. To the many different restaurants I eat at.Her chicken was dry also. didn't enjoy it.When you drop $40.00 for 2meals you should expect good cooking , good portions..I'm still looking for an out standing BBQ restaurant.
Extremely disappointed in the food. We had mutton and brisket sandwiches and they were terrible. Horrible presentation too, the food looked as bad as it tasted. Over priced, store bought tasting sides. We love good bbq and drove over 1 hour and we’re terribly disappointed. My husband is a backyard barbecue man and can cook 100 times better than we had there.
My order was sent quicker than expected and was complete and exactly prepared the way I wanted and all the employees were extremely helpful answering all my questions about everything I had including the long distant delivery. Amazing! Ordered the beef brisket and ribs. Both were excellent. The ribs fell of the bone. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean and well taken care of.. Wish I had of taken pictures of our food. A must try!
I had to place an order over the phone and the gentleman was super nice, very helpful and patient. He made sure I got everything I needed and took his time to help me get the most for my money. Can’t wait to eat there on my next visit to Owensboro.
The food and service were good. I have never had bbq mutton before, but it seemed dry. I wish I had ordered something else, but I do know mutton in general can be dry, so no real foul here. The sides were pretty good, I got the green beans and coleslaw. What was great was the price. The hipster bbq at home would have charged 2 to 3 times more. I will definitely try Old Hickory again but try another protein.
