Always a good experience and great food when I’m near. Only get to go here once a year and drove 40 miles to have it while working out of town. Never a regret eating hear. Always friendly servers and hostesses.

We ate the Buffet on Saturday, let me say this, the best thing was the lemon water I got with my meal. Their turkey and dressing was pretty good, and that's it. We drove three hours to eat there, never again. I accidently dropped a roll and an older man possibly the owner said something to me over dropping the roll, truth. The only reason I giving them a one is because our waitress was nice.
Enjoyed the buffet. Some buffets are incredibly salty; however, this was perfectly seasoned. Reasonably priced. Great service and great food! Leave room for the banana pudding!
We had moved from Evansville and been gone 30 years, so a chance to come back to Owensboro had to include Moonlite Barbecue. We were so happy that little had changed, the food was as delicious as we remembered and we thoroughly enjoyed the offerings on the buffet. I particularly loved the dressing and bbq brisket while my husband was happy with the mutton among other things. The only disappointment was that there used to be a whole lot more on the dessert bar - at least 10 different offerings including cakes and pies and the "new" one only had two cobblers, two pies, a plate of brownies and banana pudding. While the banana pudding was very good, it just wasn't the same. Had this been the same, it would have gotten a resounding 5 plus.
Overall our experience here was great. All the food was good and the service was top notch. The buffet stayed full even though the restaurant was busy. We went for lunch and thought it was reasonable but the dinner prices seemed a little steep. The food itself was good, but due to all of the talk about it being "the best" I did expect a little more. I am happy we tried this local gem, and would be happy to try more things on the menu in the future. Definitely worth an hour drive to have that old-school feel again.
Was so delicious and my husband and me both definitely left with our stomach full. The gentleman who waited on us was very sweet and pleasant and did amazing job wish something you don't find to much of any more. When we walked inside we didn't know rather to leave or stay and wait to be seated. Billy and Me both were very happy to see the young man who waited on was very great and could tell he loves his job .
We drove a long way to get here after being recommended to go here by a friend and we were not disappointed. The buffet is huge and has such a big selection, you really have difficulty deciding what to eat. If you don't want the buffet, they have a sit down menu that will satisfy most people. The staff were really great and friendly. If I am in the area, I will definitely be returning
Moonlite Bar-B-Q is the real deal. Food is delicious. Today I ate the buffet which is a little pricey on Friday night at $21.65 + tax but you will not leave hungry. The brisket and pork here is amazing. The owner works very hard and not once have I been here that he’s not on the floor working as hard as anyone. If your in the area you can’t go wrong eating here if you want the best meat you can get anywhere. They also sell their meats by the pound.
Great homemade food. Rent a room, you ain't gonna feel like driving after you get this stuffed ? Plenty of food to choose from, and even had a sugar-free peach pie option for dessert.
