First, the one and only waiter in the restaurant was very kind and friendly and polite and was serving as quick as he could. Second, I had to wait too too long to be asked my order. The restaurant was not busy. Third, the meal was served quickly (it was crepes) but another customer's meal was delivered way later. The waiter gave her the meal free, as he should have. Fourth, my crepes tasted like meat and fish, as if the grill had not been cleaned. DO BETTER, IHOP!!! I will not be returning.
This place is an absolute joke. I understand it's made to order. I understand there's a staffing issue all over. However they have their system set up that if you have already ordered and someone does a doordash order, the doordash order goes before your order. It jumps ahead. I ordered hash browns and omelette and blueberry French toast. It was to go. Answer about 10 minutes she told me it would be 15 more minutes. 45 minutes later we got our meal. And constantly people were coming in and she kept telling them 15 more minutes. Knowing darn well it was going to take longer than that. Then I get home and half my order is missing. Just be honest about it and say it's going to be a long wait. But at least give me all my food I paid for and don't give attitude when I call to say hey part of my food is missing. I would not recommend this place at all
IHOP is a nice place, really. The food smelt delicious but when i was served my food it was a little disappointing. The look was just as similar to the taste. The food was dry and tasted a little burnt. Someone people might like their food better this way but it just wasn’t the best experience for me. Though, their cheese sticks were absolutely delicious! The look, taste, and everything about the cheese sticks were incredible. I was served the cheese sticks before any other meal, therefore i had my hopes up a little to high for the main meal. I find it nice the the waitress there are kind, but i’d wish they’d focus more on their food.
**The only thing saving this review***is 100% staff friendliness*The food was cold upon being served.Food was also served at odd times: two people got majority, (but not entirety), of meal and waited for side while others waited for any portion of their meal to arrive. One guest's side was served, (strangely piping hot), minutes before receiving the check.The wait staff was ever so friendly and accommodating. Also apologetic. They're good people.If you're looking for solely staff hospitality and friendliness, this is your place! If you'd like to enjoy breakfast, TOGETHER, as a family, I'd venture on down the road.
Staff was courteous however so slow, it's ridiculous. There were plenty of people working but from my own observation they stand around in the kitchen talking instead of doing their job. Waited forever to get seated when there were so many empty tables and the food took long time to get. It was good however.
Definitely do NOT recommend this Ihop, walked in before 10, and 2 people walked in right before I did, they got seated right away… used the restroom (2 min max) came back out for them to tell me the dining room was closed and they can no longer seat me and it’s now carry out only. Might wanna train your employees better - to allow people be seated, and not the next, when we all practically walked in at the same time.
IHOP in Newport has really gone down hills. The floors are dirty, the tables are not clean or sanitized. We sat for 30min and the table sat unclean after we left. I gave it a 2 star, because the waitress was nice.
These crepes should’ve been thrown out not served. No strawberry sauce and burnt.
Great food. Manager was walking around asking everyone if they needed anything as the wonderful friendly waitress' was busy with customers. That is what I call great team work.
Ordered 4 crepes. Arrived burned, could not cut with plastic knife. Toppings only enough for one crepe. Four sausage links served in a large Gold Star Chili take out container. Will never order again. How very disappointed. See attachment below.
