Oh, my stars!! The food was wonderful. So tasty, so fresh. Great portions. But the ultimate was the chocolate cherry cheesecake. It was a little bit of heaven in every bite. (One suggestion, some of the chips got tuff, so fresh with every order.)
I don't want to crap on this restaurant because it is local but to be honest I think it wasn't anything special. For the prices they charge to heat up a beyond burger patty and dress it, they put the sandwiches on cheap grocery store buns. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was good but again the cheap bun and generic dressing made the $14 price seem steep. We really liked the Mac Bites and Mac & Beer Cheese. They offer a self-serve water station which is great.. but there's nothing labeled or any indication that it exists. I asked someone for water and they pointed it out to me. The tables were sticky and hadn't been wiped down.. probably all day. There isn't air conditioning or at least it's not used. Wouldn't recommend on a hot day (it was 100 outside when we went). I want to assume they do this for "environmental reasons" but they use plastic ware forks/knives so it seems silly if that's the reasoning. The drinks were good. The ordering from your phone seemed cool but I don't think they got it just right. Overall, I probably won't go back. That said, I hope they take constructive criticism and step up a few things.
My sister and I stopped at V-grits whilst passing through town on a roadtrip. Looking at the menu, I was astounded at the selection and variety. You could get some vegan comfort food, or choose something a bit healthier. I ordered the Bleu Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. The blue cheese was amazing, the texture and flavor were spot on! The service was good. I ordered some Kombucha on tap, as well as an oatmeal sandwich cookie to go. They ran out of the on-tap Kombucha, so they have me what they had, plus a can, plus another cookie sandwich on the house. You can either order online or at the counter. If I were ever in town again, I'd definitely recommend V-grits! They also have a brewery inside and some profits go to a charity! As a side note, there are a couple thrift stores just down the street that are worth checking out, one is called Fat Rabbit ?
Scrumptious, delicious, savory, safe, and tasty! Mmmmm mmmm good from the unusual Mac & beer cheese to the outstanding All-Am burger to the YOU COME FOR THIS REALLY in- house- brewed libations v-Grits is truly a plant- base-r's home base in Louisville to have a safe meal but not sparing the flavor. It will fool the carnivore (trust me I've done this before)! Eat & be merry!
I hate leaving a 1-star review on a vegan place, especially. But you have to tell people if you're too close to closing and will only serve to-go! They just brought it out wrapped in to-go boxes, after serving us drinks, while at least three other tables were still eating. Yelp can be wrong, sure. Yelp says they're open for four more hours. The kicker? Their WEBSITE says they're open for four more hours. But they can't be bothered to update that. You have to TELL people before you take their money!! What's wrong with you.
First time, I'll be back! Order at the counter for me tho. Yummy food, yummy beer.
Industrial interior, rooftop patio. Delicious all-vegan menu. There is some convenience in the fact that food comes served in half of a takeout container, so you can easily ask for a lid and take leftovers to go - but it would be nice to have real dishes and eliminate all the plastic waste from folks who aren’t leaving with food.
I don’t like ordering on the phone. Service is not very personable. Food, however, was good.
The Mac and cheese bites are worth a 5. The service is not. Get a few drinks (the Mimosa tree was good) bc you'll be waiting a good while for food. But the food was very good. If you need a brunch spot, especially a vegan one, this is it. I got the hot chicken biscuits and my so got the ham and scrambled tofu breakfast Sammie. Overall, would come again.
I've always known vegan food can be good. V-Grits shows it can be great. The Nashville-style hot chicken (seitan) sandwich was crisp and spicy. The curried chickpeas are served cold and have a delightful, potato salad flavor and texture. But the real star is the loaded Mac & Pub Cheese. Incredible flavor and creaminess. As a non-vegan cheese lover, I'd put it up against any Mac & Cheese out there.
