The food was extremely salty. So salty I could not eat. No healthy options. The service was fine but cocktails feel short. There was no sweet tea. I cannot recommend this restaurant to my friends.
The Food, Ambience, Entertainment and Location
Love the music and the vibe of the place. Wonderful for date night. The food was amazing. Especially the greens and Mac& cheese. The drinks are good as well. Service is great. Highly recommend.
Stumbled upon this place while parking to attend some MMA fights across the street. Stepped in got a drink before going to the fights and was pleasantly surprised. The staff inside and outside was friendly and helpful. After the fights we returned to get a meal and was told " no more order will be taken for 20 mins" . We got a drink and sat outside in the roped off seating area enjoying the night air. Being parked next to the establishment I guess these three guys thought it was cool to lean on my vehicle. When told to stop that activity an heated argument with these guys started. I'm not sure why people in the wrong try to justify their actions, you can't justify wrong actions. The issue was resolved and the outside security did what they were being paid to do. We went back inside to order some food and was told again it would be 20 mins before more orders will be taken. At this point it's already late into the night so we moved on. Not sure why the kitchen personal uses that system of operation, but you're allowing money to walk out the door. Not good business on the kitchens part of the business. It wasn't overly crowed so it really didn't make sense.
I'm visiting from a different state and this place was recommended to me. I'm very supportive of black-owned businesses, but I have to say if you have limited time...skip this one. Nothing was impressive about it. The food was average (I'm a world traveler and have dined sufficiently at the best of them and best street food). This was very average. In addition, the aesthetic was confusing, at best. The outdoor sign spoke of a dress code, but the women wait staff were donned in Hooters-like apparel against the backdrop of a black and white Marie Kondo minimalist design. Needless to say, unimpressive. However, for the supporter in me, I would say the waitstaff was pleasant and for their own sake, dine here if your schedule permits.
Prime Time is one word to describe Southern. Location is everything and to be Old Spaghetti Factory new neighbor sitting west across third street is a true prime location. Thousands of tourist and locals pass this corner daily and now when they do the experience a bit more exciting. Southern giving a different restaurant lounge kinda of feel curated to in my opinion groups. How the sitting is situated parties can easily be seated because of how its already sectioned off, which gives the consumer a vip feel or section in a club. Be ready to have a good time, the setting can provide a intimate feel or a club feel depending on the night and music but the ambiance is hitting. Did I mention this is blacked owned busineaa which adds an additional Flava to the location providing the city of Louisville with more in a location that in years past wasn't open to letting black businesses operate in these spaces but its a new day and I believe Southern is here to stay.
EXCELLENT chicken and waffles. The flats on the wings were delicious. Very friendly staff. Men's room was very clean. Would eat here more if I lived here.
This place is amazing! We were debating on going to a couple other places 4.7-4.9 star places on main, but this place blew every single option out of the water, we were a little skeptical with the review count being a little low but this place deserves 6 stars, go here, end of decision.
When it comes to flavor, this place understood the assignment. Would I fly here just for the food? Without question. Come here to eat, stay for the vibe. Can not recommend more.
Excellent customer serviceTasty food and nice music.
