Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Silvio's consistently ranks in the top 3 Italian restaurants in Louisville for me. The chicken parm and baked ziti are some of the best I've had.
This is the best Italian restaurant in Louisville and Kentucky! It’s a family owned restaurant and feels more like eating at a friends house than a restaurant. Their bar is small and well stocked. Be sure to ask for Pappy Van Winkle! Debbie makes great cocktails at the bar and the food is exceptional and fairly priced. Bill, the owner, is a lovely person to talk to…
Eggplant Parmesan and veal Parmesan were both very good except for the marinara sauce. It was not seasoned well at all- tasted like salt and garlic. Alfredo sauce was very bland too like it had no Parmesan in it. Pork chop was delicious! Caramel cheesecake was so good it made the Italian cream cake taste bland. Eat the cake first because nothing compares to that cheesecake!
What a fantastic birthday dinner. We went to Silvio's and had a great time. We ordered bruschetta to share as an appetizer, Ziti ala Vodka, Aglio e Olio and Tiramisu + Lemoncello cake for desserts. All in all, a nice way to celebrate.
Finally made it to Silvio’s!First of all, the service was absolutely impeccable. It was a very busy Friday night, but we were still very well taken care of. Our server, Ryan, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Silvio came out to check on us multiple times throughout our meal, and as visited every other table as well.Second, the food. ?All the food. There’s complimentary bread which was quite good. We started with antipasto and it was a perfect starter. My guy had a Caesar salad and I had a grilled romaine salad. Both were phenomenal. For our main course, I had the aglio e olio with shrimp, which was a perfect savory blend of garlic and red pepper spice. He got the special, which was actually a grilled ribeye topped with grilled onions and mushrooms, garlic whipped potatoes and grilled corn on the cob. Silvio said “I don’t do steaks, but my chef wanted to do ribeye, so I did.” And it was delicious! The special also came with an espresso crème brûlée that was to die for. We had espresso to drink with dessert as well.Long story short, recommend this hidden gem in the heart of Saint Matthew’s. Make a reservation, it was packed and Silvio said it’s normally even more busy than tonight.
Another incredible evening at Silvio's!!I try to go there at least once a month and it never disappoints I was lucky enough to be able to take my brother and brother-in-law there tonight. The ambience and the greeting by Karen matches the quality of the food she is an absolute doll!! She is so upbeat and cheery it's like she's welcoming you into her own home. And always remember his little personal things you may have told her on the phone making your reservation. The owner/chef Bill it's just as delightful always stopping by your table to make sure everything is okay and to thank you for coming which is really funny because we should be thanking him for cooking LOL this is very fast become my favorite restaurant to go to not only for the food but for the people that own and run it it is a fantastic experience 10 out of 10 on every level do not miss it!!
DERBY EVE... right after The Oaks...no reservation.. no problem! Greeted and seated with smiles. The owner and Chef came to our table not once but twice to be sure everything was perfect. AND IT WAS! Our server was their pretty daughter, and her suggestions for the evening were spot on. I haven't enjoyed a meal like that in a LONG time! You will feel at home, want to hug everyone when you leave, and come back soon! Thank you all for a delightfull evening!
It is rare that you find a place that has amazing food with equally amazing service. From the moment we entered the restaurant, I felt like I was visiting family. Bill (owner/chef) and his wife Caron (owner) have created an environment and tasty authentic Italian food like no other. Their interaction and genuine care for the guests was so welcoming. Our server/bartender, Debbie, was so warm and friendly and they all treated us like family. We came for the wonderful food and stayed for the immaculate service. Will 100% be back. 1000/10 recommend.
Went for dinner with my boyfriend, aunt, and dad. We all loved our dishes! I had the mussels as an entree and I could drink the white wine cream sauce they came in! Boyfriend and aunt had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious! Don't remember what my dad got and I didn't try it but he said it was delicious. We also enjoyed the toasted ravioli special appetizer. Service was great and the owner stops by tables to say hi. Highly recommend for a nice dinner!
We found Silvio’s while searching Trip Advisor for Italian restaurants in Louisville. When I called, we were told no reservations until 8:30, but it would be work the the wait… IT WAS!! We arrived early and sat at the bar with our two kids, we were greeted like friends! The hostess let us know that our table would be ready soon, so we chatted with the lovely bartender and her husband who works in the kitchen. Our waitress was equally as friendly, and all of their recommendations were on point! The Rice Balls, Baked Ziti, and Eggplant Parm are a must try! You will not be disappointed! If we lived in the Louisville area, we would be regulars!
