Service is unacceptable. The waitress barely spoke to us upon seating. Never checked to see how the meal was. No complimentary chips that they used to give. Food quality and quantity has gone down. Small portion of rice for all these saucy dishes. The Nirvana cocktail is horrible. Do not order! Horrible aftertaste. I will not be back.

I usually go for the buffet and they didn't have it open but I'm honestly really happy I got to try it without the buffet. Their food was amazing and they had options for everybody be you vegan, vegetarian, a meat eater, or pescatarian. The white stuff was very polite and was on top of us making sure that we had everything that we needed without being excessively in the way.

We arrived for a mini-high school reunion right as the restaurant re-opened for dinner and were seated promptly. Service was attentive throughout our leisurely meal. Spice levels were adjusted to individual preferences (mine was nice and spicy), and the food was delicious. Shalimar offers a small selection of Indian beers; the Maharaja that I had was a serviceable accompaniment to the spicy lamb vindaloo. We'll return should the opportunity present itself.

My wife and i had a very elegant dinner date night here. The gentlemen who provided service were in suits very well fit. They carried themselves with high praise. The food presentation was astonishing. The food was very delicious. This will be our date night place. My wife said she felt important and she mattered. The service and food was beyond 5 stars.

Love this place! It tastes great eating in or carry out. We always get lamb curry and garlic naan. They know my husbands order when they see him. Staff is excellent and the place has a nice vibe.

Great food. Tandoori could use more seasoning though. Chili chicken and gobi manchurian was great though. Food is served very quick. So not sure how fresh it actually is. The chicken didn’t taste stale though so overall a pretty good meal. Family style. Would highly recommend it if you’re looking for Indian food in Louisville

We went to Shalimar for Valentine’s Day and everything was very nicely decorated with roses for the special occasion. The staff was very attentive and our food and mango lassis were delicious and served quickly. Thanks for a great dining experience!

I’m sad that I have to leave such a poor review when this was once our favorite spot in town but I paid $52 for takeout and our Curry chicken barely had half a chicken breast worth of meat in it - there was mostly liquid. Our Shrimp Masala had 6 shrimp to be exact and the rest of the container was liquid. The new to-go rice containers are also very small - we used to not think twice about paying high for 2 days worth of food yet not only were the portions small - the quality is not the same. We were very disappointed.

I’m disappointed to report that our experience was poor. Many of our friends rant and rave about this restaurant, but we did not share the same experience. The portion sizes were quite small for the prices. More than 3/4 of the goat in our goat curry was inedible (bones/fat) and there were six small cubes of paneer in our paneer masala. The samosas didn’t seem fresh, like they were left over from the buffet. The naan was very fresh, but the garlic butter didn’t taste good.
