I had a great time here and would definitely recommend it as a distillery tour and experience. The building itself has a really cool design and aesthetic. Terry, our tour guide, was a good dude and fun to be around. Ending upstairs in the bar overlooking Louisville capped it off nicely.Rabbit Hole definitely seems like they put it all together with a clear vision and identity.
A must visit distillery. Their process and products are so different than the older bourbon places. You will not be disappointed. A full product tasting that included a high end and unable to purchase product, so it was very nice to get those extras. Terry was an amazing guide. I would revisit this place again and again. Their overlook bar is amazing and a beautiful area to view the city from. 10/10 must do location.
Beautiful facility. Very nick folks. I did the tasting here and it was a lot of fun. My only complaint is there was nothing unique about the bourbons offered. I literally could have done the same tasting at my local Total Wine. I was in town for work so that was no big deal, but if I’d traveled all the way here for unique bourbon I would have been very disappointed.Edit-After seeing the response from the owner I’m realizing I did a terrible job of explaining my review. It’s not that their four core bourbons aren’t unique or interesting that bothers me, rather it’s that they don’t offer anything special at the distillery. All four of these core bourbons can be found at your local liquor store, so what’s the point of making a trip here? The same can be said for most of the distilleries in Louisville so it’s more of a general complaint. It would be really cool if they offered something you can’t get elsewhere. A special bottle you could only buy at the distillery, maybe a single barrel/limited release. Something to make the visit feel special and worthwhile.
Definitely a distillery tour you don’t want to miss in Louisville! We showed up in the morning without a reservation, and the crew was very accommodating and booked a tour for us. The building is beautiful and new, and crafted specifically for the guests to heighten the tour experience. Your tour starts with a lovingly crafted cocktail to set the tone for the experience. The guide takes you through the bourbon making process and the history of the company, with perfect timing and pace. The distillation component of the tour is very hands-on. The highlight of the tour is the finale, a tasting of their signature blends on the third floor overlooking the entire city in a chic bar space. The tour ends with a story about the distillery’s origin and owner, a very heartwarming conclusion to a great tour! Tour price is very reasonable, $25 for tour and a flight. Would definitely recommend visiting during your visit to Louisville!
On my top 2 (of 9 visits this week). Smaller and they don’t age the whiskey on site but there’s so much to see. Open fermentor, the most picturesque distillation column…They are much younger so had the chance to directly build an experience center. Transparency truly shine. The tasting was spectacular. Pristine place!
My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful tour here with Pauline the other day. There are some key differences with this tour from the multitude of other tours we have taken. Right out of the gate, we are greeted with a custom Old Fashioned with their bourbon and a smile from our guide, Pauline. It was a delight to learn the history of Rabbit Hole and how it was named, especially the origins of their different products. They pride theirselves on transparency, quality products, and a definite sense of care for their employees. In the end, I am glad we toured their facility as I intend to purchase all of their products ?. Hope that you get Pauline as your guide!
This is such a cool change to the standard distillery. The thought process behind the building, the efficiency, and product was really quite something. The rooftop bar has a great view of Louisville's downtown and a great selection. I love that almost the entire process is open to be seen from the top floor to anyone coming in. Our tour guide Terry was also fantastic!
I wouldn’t have expected that the Rabbit Hole tour we received would be the best tour we went on during our trip around the Bourbon Trail, but… Terry hit a home run and we loved every minute. We learned more than we expected, and got to taste more than we expected. Support craft!
I did not take the tour but on the first floor there are several areas that you can view and see the distillery operation without taking the tour. I went to their third floor bar and had a flight of bourbon but they also make several cocktails with their bourbon and gin. They also had a vodka available for their cocktails. The third floor also offers great views of downtown Louisville. The parking is easy as they have several private spots to the right of the building but also there is ample street parking. They had a lot of cool items in their merchandise store as well.
Gorgeous facility, wonderful people & an absolutely amazing product! We went during Thunder Over Louisville, not knowing what that was. So all tours & tastings were booked. But they have a beautiful bar upstairs for just that reason! We still got to sample some by buying a flight. The stellar bartender described things for us & made recommendations based on our preferences. We sat next to someone who was there for the same reasons as us & we got to enjoy such lovely conversation over delectable cocktails that none of us would have tried normally. My husband & I absolutely abhor gin. But Rabbit Hole’s Bespoke gin is actually aged in barrels & has a slight color to it, with such flavor! Still a little herbaceous, but smooth & very, very pleasant! We actually bought a bottle! First time in either of our lives that we’ve purchased gin! Can’t wait to try out some of the recommendations for it.Already looking forward to our next visit!
