The pizza was tasty and the service was friendly?
Pizza was excellent, and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
For being rated so highly, I would have expected much better. The falafel salad we got had old lettuce that looked past its prime and was lackluster. The pizza itself (the stinging bee or something) had a decent enough flavor, but the basil was burnt, and the crust was still somewhat doughy on the outside, which was much thicker than the rest. It was super floppy and very greasy. Cute outside area, and dog friendly, but I definitely would not eat here again.
So glad they survived the pandemic and have expanded local delivery. This is such a high quality product it should not be compared to any other pizzas around town. I would much rather pay a few dollars more for them compared to the other cookie cutter frozen oil based products. This is similar to a pizza I would get in a major metro city and something I would get in Italy itself. They are my favorite place for pizza and I order from them regularly.
I’m spoiled having lived in Chicago for most of my life and had access to a lot of incredible pizza. I would argue Pizza Lupo rivals a lot of my favorite pizza in Chicago. The wood fired crust is both delicious in flavor and in texture. And the ingredients were all super fresh and tasty. I would have provided photos but we ate everything too fast! LOL! Very impressed by this find and highly recommend it!
A local's place we happen to find. This is different if its a first time. First thing, first come seating. You order food and drink from IQ code on the table or up at the bar. The friendly wait staff bring water, plates, etc. The Caesar salad was classic Italian, frisee and arugula lettuce mix, anchovies and no croutons. The pizza was just as good, perfect crust. Added pepperoni to the margarita pizza and they don't skimp. We'll be back.
A M A Z I N G!!! The food is absolutely off the charts. We are huge pizza fans and this place absolutely delivers(literally and figuratively). The crust is chewy and the topping are delicious. These people are artists. The atmosphere was great as well. It is lively, but we were still able to have a conversation. I would highly recommend!
Pizza LUPO was just two blocks from our Air Bnb. We always like to try locations we can walk to. The pizza was delicious, definitely the best pizza we have had in a few years. The crust was delicious, nice variety of toppings. We really enjoyed ourselves.
I decided one evening to try something new and ordered take-out from Pizza Lupo, and while I am not entirely upset I did, I can say that it wasn't a notable culinary experience. Quality of service and ingredients used were top notch, but the execution of the dish (magherita pizza) itself needed improvements that took this from an extraordinary meal to an ordinary one. The sauce, cheese, oil & seasoing used were very addicting - the dough is where the dish feel apart. From my prior personal culinary experiences, Neapolitin style dough is supposed to be paper thin and easily comsumable/digestable. And what was served that night was extremely thick and dense to the where it was very hard to tear the dough apart with your teeth. I was almost like someone took an italian dough and made a Chicago style crust out of it - hoping this wasn't the intention. At the end of the day, would definitely consider dining here again and giving this place another shot.
