I was at an event hosted in the nearby International Convention Center and looking for lunch. Osaka employees were kind and helpful to peruse the menu. I had the shrimp noodle soup. Expecting the lunch portion to be small, a very generous portion was served! The spices and ingredients were delicious. I recommend Osaka.
So apparently shrimp tempura comes with one piece of shrimp and raw sweet potatoes for an entree, cooool. And “tempura udon” is just udon noodles with broth. Give the term a google and see why it’s misleading. Sad, I enjoyed this place when I dined in, but 30 bucks for broth, noddles, and raw battered vegetables is whack. I guess just don’t carry out???
The sushi was wonderful! The service wasn't the best this time though. My co-worker & I went there yesterday for a late lunch and there was only a couple of other tables occupied. We had to wait a while to have our order taken and unbeknownst to us when we ordered, they only had plastic bottles of soda (no glasses and no ice). After we finally got our food, no one checked on us at all and then we had to flag someone down to get our check. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we had to go to the counter to pay because no one ever returned to the table to take payment. A little disappointing, but again, the sushi is outstanding.
Simply average sushi and the rolls are certainly small for the price. My main complaint was decor and demeanor. It is dark, cluttered and pretty unwelcoming. The staff , well it seems they rather be anywhere else. Manager / owner (?) pacing back and forth with sour attitude while I sit and wait to place my order, one of three occupied tables. Many tables left with dirty dishes, no bussing. Just dingy surroundings.I am from a west coast city and believe me, there are better places out there. This place has a long way to go to come up to being average overall

Osaka is the ONLY place I eat Japanese food at anymore. It is delicious and the best sushi that I have tried in this area so far. They never get my order wrong and it’s always so delicious and the portion size is also a plus! Love love love this place
Great food and excellent service! If I return to downtown Louisville in the future, I am definitely eating here. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday have an advertised lunch special of Buy One, Get One for $2 that I would like to take advantage of as well!
The fried rice was really tasty I ordered a side of edamame for my protein. Along with vegetable sushi which was really good with or without the wasabi. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would most definitely recommend this place … especially on a Sunday when Almost every other food establishment downtown is closed.#Artisbluu
3rd time ordering food and it being either inedible, or including items not on the menu that I'm allergic to. Used to love this restaurant but over the last few years it has taken a horrendous turn for the worst. The lack of responsibility for including shellfish in items that aren't advertised as having shellfish is mind boggling. Will be taking money elsewhere ✌
