I'm a die-hard deep dish guy. So, when my wife wanted to try Old School NY, I was skeptical. But, Old School won me over. The slices are generous, and their specialty pies are very tasty. I like to throw the pizza in the oven for 5 minutes or so when I get home to crisp it up, get the cheese melty, and to get the underside and toppings hot.My only major complaint I have is their website. It's very basic and difficult to navigate.Overall though, Old School NY Pizza is our go-to on pizza night!
I had a craving for a good sausage pizza and stopped in the shop today. It is always good. The staff is friendly and the pizza is the best New York style pizza in the area. I moved to the area three years ago from the northeast, where there are great pizza shops at every corner. Old School NY Pizza is the only pizza shop in the area that reminds me of the good pizzas that you can get in the northeast.
I had 2 slices a pepperoni, they were out when I arrived so I waited 10 min to get fresh slices out of the oven. Im from philly this pizza is the closest thing ive had to real northern east coast pizza since ive lived in the ville. Red sauce is tomato fresh pop kick to it, crust has a crunch, cheese is stringy and good. If u dont like a flop in ur pizza slices tell them u want ur slices or pie well done. I personally will be asking for well done when i go back.
It's a great locally owned, managed and operated. Always BUY LOCAL when possible. I just want to compliment staff and manager working! They are super great at customer service, great pizza, and garlic bread knots. I bought about 6 teenage girls - my daughter and her friends. We took food home to my son and his friends. Flexible combos and flexible toppings for a whole pizza. Great pricing. The garlic bread knots are a must. Fountain Coke products (a must for me) are cold and fresh, fresh brewed tea and favorited lemonades. If it has been a few months since you have dropped by, you need to drop by again soon!! Their pizza is amazing! If you want to get in and out for lunch, they have it pre-made and ready for you in 5 minutes. If you want more of a sit-down dining experience, their Norton Commons location is great! It also doesn't hurt that the bartender makes the most amazing Kentucky old fashioned!
Norton Commons location: If you like to sit on wood, food on paper plates, cheap silverware, wine glass not a wine glass, like to be served the appetizer and entre at the same time, no help from the server to put food in what I guess you could call doggie bags (not really, just a big box) oh and most importantly the pizza is just fair,,,,,,, then this is the restaurant for you.
This is the best pizza spot in Louisville. My personal favorite is their Hawaiian slices. I am not a fan of Hawaiian pizza usually, but i gotta say their Hawaiian pizza is the best pizza I've ever had in my life. I have taken a lot of family and coworkers from out of town here and when they return, they always request the Hawaiian pizza from here.I would love if they added a location closer to Okolona so i could enjoy it more at home.
If you can’t properly serve your customers you should cut down the number of tables served. 3 of us went. I unfortunately ordered a meatball sub. It arrived 25 minutes before my companions small 2 pizzas. You would think if it came out that early they could have taken the time to microwave the frozen meatballs. The server never cared to ask why the sandwich went untouched after one bite. This place has good pizza but the service and anything other than pizza is very sub par. Done at your own risk here folks.
This was the best Pizza I've ever had and I've had a LOT of pizza I've loved. Even my Fiancé said she loved it and she doesn't really eat pizza because it makes her sick. She tried a bite of my slice and told me to go right back inside and buy a full pizza.
Great pizza and great service. Alot of flavor variety to choose from. A little expensive but almost worth the cost. The salads are awesome. I would highly recommend this establishment if you want a great slice and a salad... if you have some extea money because it is a little bit costly but a worth while experience. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because of the price.??
