The staff was very nice. The donuts were very delicious, probably the best I’ve ever had, they really put time and effort into their products. We have told numerous people to go here when in town.We will definitely be back when in Louisville. If you’re in the area it is worth checking out but they close early.
This place is an absolute treasure. We went around 830am. The lady that helped us was so sweet and helpful! We bought more than we could eat, but everything was amazing. The unique flavors of donuts are fun and definitely tasty, but the vanilla cake donut was divine and the pastry with caramel and pecans on top was absolutely to die for. I wish we had found this place on day 1 of our vacation so we could have enjoyed it more! If we are ever back in Louisville, we will be back. 10/10 highly recommend!
Walked into the bakery at 6am and was greeted with a light, sweet scent of happiness; my eyes were bouncing around with excitement at the freshly made goodness.The very kind gentleman came from the back to take my order so I wouldn't have to wait for the customer ahead of me that had a large order.He was patient as I picked a variety of donuts to make my dozen and was genuinely polite.Definitely what I needed at 6 in the morning; you could tell that he loves his job. My family and I devoured half of the box as soon as they made it through the door.--Must Check Them Out.
I have been coming here for years and have to say, I have been more disappointed in the donuts over the last year than at any other time. Something has changed. Can't quite put my finger on it, but the quality is not what it once was. New cooks/bakers? Has the recipe changed? The last dozen donuts I got were all under cooked. This has happened more than once in the last year. Fingers crossed it does not start happening more frequently.
This is my first time eating Nords donuts but it won’t be my last. After tasting these donuts I realize that Nords is one of the two best bakeries in the city. The other one being Plehn’s bakery in St. Matthews. These donuts seem to have recipes going back to the early 20th century Germany. I was surprised not only at the flavor and freshness but the detail and uniqueness of these donuts. I now know why Nords is rated one of the best donut bakeries in the city. Friendly people and award winning bakery goods make Nord’s a winning combination.
What a great local bakery! I live a few hours away and ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. There was a long line when I arrived and i see why...yummy donuts. I grabbed a maple bacon to go and the cake was decorated beautifully! I will be stopping here for donuts on my next trip to Louisville:)

We discovered Nord's from Food Insider on YouTube. We were in town for a visit and everyone who we past with the box was raving about how great the donuts are. We had their maple bacon, classic glaze, cinnamon twist, and chocolate dipped glazed. All the donuts were light and fluffy and perfectly sweet. The staff was friendly and patient as we asked about some of their other desserts and pastries like danishes, decorated cookies, and cupcakes. They also had fresh baked bread loaves for under $3 each. We will absolutely come back and try other treats on our next visit. No frills shop and top notch baked goods. Enjoy!
This place has a special nostalgia to it. It's like a old school bakery you'd see in a movie. Also, it helps to have excellent donuts.
