When I ate at this restaurant a month ago, I was skeptical as I thought, it was another run-of-the-mill Japanese restaurant. As soon as I ordered my ramen ? noodle soup and sushi, I was blown away by how really good it was. Living in a large metropolis (not Louisville) where ramen places have popped up and owned by Japanese or Korean people, I was truly impressed by the owner of this restaurant. Aside from the great food, the service by the staff was just as great as well. I am hoping to swing by Louisville area again and eat here. I look forward for the same great food and service!
Good service and food at Misawa. The Soba Shrimp noodle bowl I had was quite good. My wife got her usual, a California and YumYum Roll. Really fresh rolls and large rolls. Atmosphere is not very noisy and more comfortable than some other sushi joints in Fern Creek. If you want a casual and affordable sushi joint this it.
Food is always amazing when I come here. Dine in or take out there is always quality and pride in the food. My go to is the Faithful Roll and a order of gyoza, series add a second roll if I'm feeling freaky. Seriously give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
It’s been good every time we’ve had it via to-go. Our favorites are the fried calamari, the Miss Veedol roll, and the Tiger Roll. We dined in last night for the first time. The ambiance is cool; we enjoyed the lighting. I’m surprised that they serve cocktails and alcoholic beverages because we didn’t receive a beverage menu last night. We definitely would have ordered some cocktails if we had known. I only discovered that they serve drinks via Google photos. I’m curious to try the cocktails; I bet they are good.
After being here a few different times, I can happily say that this is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is nothing short of on point every single time. The wait staff are just all amazing, patient and helpful. I have had a few different rolls. My personal favorite is the hokage. The pork belly in the Ramen is just insane. I can also recommend the chicken yakisoba, and spicy edamame. Delicious and fresh!!
I should’ve known this place would be amazing but I had no idea it would be of this Caliber. Firstly I came here for sushi but happen to be a Ramen lover. Both were 10/10 I haven’t had much luck throughout the city with Ramen however I would say they’re tied with the only other place in the city that had a bowl worth eating over and over again. Aljan had perfect service and shared lots on insight and smiles with us. The menu has depth and the cheesecake tempura was unbelievable. With the pandemic people have used it as an excuse for bad service but not Misawa! I’m sure I will be returning very soon.
Absolutely wonderful staff who are as friendly as can be. Prices are very reasonable very nice portions of food. The atmosphere is very nice and quaint. Huge selection of some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend trying this price out.
My favorite Japanese restaurant ever. Always seated immediately and served quick. Polite waitors / waitresses. 5 star customer service. Seems to be a locally owned business as well so youre suppoting local families with your visit. Will definitely return.

I had just finished a rather strenuous workout; famished and craving sushi. I didn't need the 'fun house' down the road, I just wanted good food. I was greeted with a smile and seated immediately.I chose the chicken & shrimp hibachi, Miso and the 20 piece sashimi. The Miso was hearty and flavorful. The salad was standard, but still enjoyable. The chicken was tender. The shrimp and vegetables were accompanied in a savory sauce.The sashimi was fresh and very pleasant. I was able to enjoy the pieces with no soy sauce to taste the subtle differences. I polished off my rice and decided on 2 different Nigiri: tuna and sweet shrimp. Amazing. The rice was balanced spot on between acidity and sweet.Overall I was very pleased with my meal. The flavor and presentation of the dishes were great. Will return.
