Everything we ate was very good and flavorful. The jicama salad was great, there daily special salbutes were amazing. Nice enchiladas and burrito as well. The spicy mango margarita was excellent.
Referred by a local and it did not disappoint. I. A very cool area of town. We ate out on the “side patio” which was basically an alley slightly landscaped. Our food was an interesting mix of Cuban, Mexican and American, I guess. Our burritos were delicious and quite large. The guacamole and chips were fresh and very tasty.
Food was stellar - so much flavor and beautiful plates! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality, Mayan Cafe!
I had a great time in the Mayan Cafe for dinner. I was traveling and was looking for a dinner spot last minute and these guys here were able to accommodate me. The mango mocktail, ceviche and salmon dish I had were amazing and cooked to perfection. The service was great as well and I have no problem eating here again in the future. The restaurant is medium sized so I'll look into getting reservations.
The food and service was wonderful and sitting on the patio (under a heater however) was a treat for a northerner who is really tired of winter. The grapefruit mojito was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, the ceviche with the tuna was a special treat. Take the servers advice - you can’t go wrong.
Really good quality food and drinks/cocktails. I would definitely visit this spot again! The staff is super friendly and helpful trying to figure out what you’re looking for. I’d highly recommend the salmon main dish. It was delicious!
We enjoyed dining at this restaurant. We had a tuna ceviche, kale/ quinoa salad, tacos, chef’s special and the lavender flan. The hostess was friendly and our server very nice. All food was delicious. We highly recommend this place.
Went with a friend for dinner. The service was great. Had the scallop ceviche as an appetizer which was light and refreshing. It was the perfect size for a starter. For the main entree I ordered the duck. It was phenomenal. So incredibly juicy and tender and it had so much flavor. It was served over a crispy bed of mashed potatoes which gave it a great texture. Honestly I have no notes or grievances, it was all very delicious. And for the high quality food you're getting the price was honestly not too much to ask either. Very happy with my experience and will be recommending to others.
It is a cute little restaurant in the downtown of Louisville along a restaurant row. The food was good and the service good.
Due to the status of the pandemic and chilling winter temperatures, I decided to order carry out and I am very glad I did. Unfortunately, pre-online ordering was not possible but when I arrived to order carry out in person, everything went very smoothly. The staff was very kind and knowlegable about the menu. I ordered the Dip Trio, the Salbutes and a side of plantains. While I was waiting, the staff welcomed me to sit an non-vacant table and offered me a glass of water, which I thought was very kind. My entire order was ready to go in less than twenty minutes, which I will say was very impresseive. The staff proactively packaged each component seperately, and included additinal napkins and cutlery with my order just in case they were needed. I was very impressed with the food for many reasons. First - other than one of the dips ( the pumpkin seed hummus), everything was exceptional. The flavors were fresh, packed full of flavor and delicous. Second - having dined at Mayan Cafe several times - the quality and presentation of food recieved via carry out was just as good as when I decided to dine-in with them previously. No corners were cut in preparation/presentation AND portion sizes were just as hearty. Overall I am very pleased with my decision to dine at Mayan Cafe and I hope others, especially those considering carry out, decide to experience the establishment as well.
