I ordered a side and a meat item at Max Orient on Friday afternoon on the 3rd of June. When I got home and started eating my meal, I realized that the fried rice tasted like it was burnt. The Orange chicken was over cooked with orange sauce applied. Worst meal ever. I was going to call them to let them know but, there no phone listed on the receipt. Nor is the name of their establishment listed on the receipt. I Just threw the food away. I hope that someone reads this so that they wont make the same mistake of going there. I went there before the Pandemic and food was fine.
Roaches as we were checking out by the coke machine use to love this place. It was really disappointing this is our favorite Chinese place to eat it and it just made a sick to her stomach when you see a roach right there as you’re checking out your food there is one they’re crawling that close to the then it’s gotta be other places anyway I hope they get it taken care of and get it cleaned up so maybe we can go back there another day thanks to the gentleman that pointed out the roach that was crawling around as he was waiting to get his money back no reason to make people sick
Got the bourbon chicken and o my goodness...it was so good!! I highly recommend eating it. Also their fountain drinks tasted really good too. Nice service as well for being in the Jefferson Mall. Only place I eat when I go other than than the cookie place!!
I got a double serving of their jalapeno chicken with vegetables. It's a lot of food for the price. The chicken is lightly breaded and is both sweet and spicy. The veggies are always fresh and cooked in such a way that they are still a bit crunchy, not soft or mushy like some others. The staff are friendly, professional and very attentive. I find Max Orient to be of much higher quality restaurant than what you might expect from a mall food court restaurant. Many of us locals know it too, so don't be surprised if you see a longer line than the other eateries there. We all know that Max Orient is worth standing in line for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Always fantastic. Chicken is great, rice and noodles are delicious, the veggies are done just right, as is all the other stuff. Super friendly staff.
Best Chinese food restaurant in Jefferson Mall. Flavor is always top notch. Been eating their food for over 10 years.They never disappoint.
Look the food! Family ran. Been coming here for far as I can remember! 15+ years. Watched the owners children grow up! Always get massive amounts of portions! Came all the way from downtown Louisville to Jefferson Mall just to enjoy it! Recommend it to anyone that enjoys Chinese food!
