When we went to eat here with my oldest child, who is mixed, the food was delicious. At a later date we went back to eat without her and were told they didn't have anything we wanted to order. I would love to give this place a higher rating, but unless you are a poc you aren't welcome to dine here.
I only come for the egusi soup and fufu which is usually pretty good but I don't like the cows feet & other meats they use so I asked the guy to remove the meat and add more soup he said he could not add more soup because it was already boxed/ packaged & he couldn't take away. When he bought my soup out it was so small because he removed the meat, I feel he should have deducted the price, but he didn't. I was disappointed but the egusi was ok...
Delicious African food. Grilled Lamb was very very delicious
The Peri Peri chicken is definitely a go to. I also enjoyed the grilled fish. Want to try the oxtail next. Awesome food!
Can't go wrong with the jollof rice meals - get the #1 (chicken) or #7 (lamb) if you're unsure of what to try. The Peri Peri chicken is very good too; not too spicy, but very flavorful.
The food I had was very good and I loved the ginger drink, it had a nice kick to it.
The food was sooooo DELICIOUS. It exceeded my expectations honestly. Coming from a Jamaican culture and thinking our Jamaican flavors are impeccable, this literally was going neck to neck with our Jamaican flavors. The cow foot soup reminded me of our goathead/goatbelly soup that we cook for Nine Night or Wake ("Dead Yard") in the Caribbean. I got # 1 on the menu called Chep Garnar (that is Red Jollof Rice with Chicken and Onion Sauce). The jollof rice was very similar to Nigerian jollof to me with a Caribbean flavor and the chicken was marinated well and evenly cooked. I also got Okra soup with fufu and fried plantains. This was delicious too. My husband, who is Nigerian, stated that the food was very delicious and was so pleased. He however stated that Nigerian Okra and Egusi soup were better (hard to believe because he was licking the plate). Lol. We live 2 hours away, but will DEFINITELY be going back. Keep up the good work guys.
Open and friendly staff, there food is the best in town
First place that I've found in louisville that serves Gambian cuisine. In absolute love!!!! ??❤️❤️❤️ food is divine! Love it here!
Really enjoyed the lamb. It was my first time eating there, customer service wasn't the best but the food was delicious and good portions.
