Best Korean food in town. The yukgaejang spicy beef soup and hot stone japchae deopbap are our favorites. Come here for a yummy, low key dinner date and you won’t be disappointed.
The restaurant is in an office building, which I kind of liked because it’s out of the way from busier areas. Rice cake appetizer was a little chewier than expected, but great flavor & spice level. With the kimchi & bulgogi hot stone entree, the meat was a little over cooked, but didn’t mind it too much. Good portion sizes. I would come back again, but will try different items from the menu.
Ordered hot stone bowl bulgogi Kimchi over rice. Beef was tender and the spiciness was exactly what I expected. The wife ordered shrimp with steamed vegetables and rice. She liked hers as well. It came with cold sides photographed here. Tofu, peanuts, cucumber, bean sprouts, potatoes, and radish kimchi (I think) also had an order of veggie egg rolls. The atmosphere is calm and cozy. Not a ton of seating. The only knock on it is when they roll the carts out and the wheels vibrate loudly as it goes by. Overall awesome place will go again.
Food and service are excellent. Initially, the food seems a little expensive, but you get a lot more than is pictured on the menu. With each entree you order, the table receives six small bowls of various appetizers. These appetizers include fried peanuts, tofu, cucumber, fried potatoes, etc. These dishes are wonderful and provided complimentary with your entree. In fact, I often mix in the appetizers with my food for extra flavor.
I eat here regularly and I’m always pleased with the experience—the service is cordial and efficient, and the Korean dishes are authentic and delicious. I was introduced to Lee’s by Korean friends and I take it as a good sign that there are nearly always a good number of Korean customers present when I am eating there. I always look forward to dining at Lee’s and I am happy to be able to recommend it enthusiastically to others without any reservation.
My hot Stone Bowl was very good! It came with so many more sides than I was expecting. We ordered some egg rolls as appetizers and they were literally the biggest egg rolls i've ever seen. The service was super friendly. I wish I remembered take a picture before I mixed it all up because it looked so appealing with the egg on top. You wouldn't think to look here for a restaurant but here it is at the bottom of an office building off Newburg rd. Nice authentic Korean meals that hit the spot!
Best Korean food in the Lou! I suggest the bi bim deop bop ?
They are very friendly and their customer services outstanding. And if you liked Korean food you would love this place really down-to-earth and authentic like you're eating with their family.
Always a great choice!! Good is always fresh and delicious!! No matter what you get, it'll be a good choice. I got the Spicy chicken JaapChae and the Kimbop. ?
We came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Noticing that we had a toddler and an infant with us, the waitress attempted to warn us that the wait would be long. We misunderstood, thinking she was referring to the wait to be seated (which was very brief). They were clearly understaffed, and the place was busy: we waited for over an hour. The staff was so kind to us and even brought out a couple extra sides with our food and a little yogurt drink for our 3 year old, a very sweet gesture. The manager even went so far as to offer to hold our baby so I could sit and eat.All that being said, the wait was worth it! The food was delicious and fresh, and there was plenty of it. We honestly wish we had taken the cue about the wait, and we felt bad later after realizing that they had tried to warn us and were worrying about our kids potentially getting rowdy (which thankfully didn't happen). On the other hand, we're so glad to have visited this restaurant and will surely be back! The bottom line is that this is a great place to eat with a staff that cares about their customers' experience.
