I love coming here when I’m in Louisville! It’s real deal hot so pay attention to what you order
crawfish etouffee ordered to go and it was delicious… except the rice was really undercooked, almost inedible. It’s an absolute shame because the dish has great flavor and lots of crawfish but the rice just ruined it
Voodoo Chicken Gumbo from j gumbo put a love spell on me??? it had a good amount of heat the kind that has u sweating and sucking your mouth❤️ and great flavor plus the restaurant was cute and clean can’t wait to try the other dishes
I must say it's one of a kind I've never had soup that taste that good EVER! This place should go to big events and offer samples and watch it grow. The soup has the potential to take off and I'm talking internationally. Don't believe me? Go try it. I did and actually glad I did. Hope I helped someone.
I used to love the food here. Lately I've been holding off in leaving public reviews. I have mentioned to the workers that the food is not tasting the same. Too much of this, not enough of that. Definitely a change in recipes. My most recent visit was it. I ordered half drunken chicken & half bumble bee stew over the traditional rice. Soo many complaints, I'm not sure where to start. First, that bowl. With no drink cost me o er $10. Second, the quantity was mostly rice. Third, the quantity of the entrees were less than impressive. I eat here regularly & I said I've been holding off on reviewing, but the small quantity that I recieved for the price I paid was the deciding factor on leaving this review. There was no hot sauce in the entire store. It took me a few minutes to realize that because the worker was outside smoking the entire time I was looking for it. The toasted baguette (Texas toast) was burnt & dripping with butter. Lastly, I hate the idea of tipping a person before they do the work. I tipped $4 and some change on a $10 & some change bill. Not sure why, but I fell for it again. The best part of my visit was the Coffee News hunt for the little man in a suit. Unfortunately I have marked this place off my list. I even left my punch card on the table when I left.
I know the name of this place could be miss leading. Because J Gumbos isnt like your granny's Gumbo. It isnt like Louisiana Gumbo. J Gumbos is white rice topped with chicken and different types of sauces. The sauces are mild, hot, and extremely hot sauce. They also have white chili & jambalaya. You also get a piece of garlic bread with every order. Trust me! Order a extra piece of garlic bread you will not regret it. delicious and filling!!! Definitely gets 5 crowns in my book?????. Great food. Great service. Fun atmosphere. Portions are terrific for the price
I very rarely leave poor reviews, but the Gumbo and Jambalaya are not flavorful. Gave 2 stars only because the Bread Pudding was on point. Be advised; set very low expectations if this is your first time. Will not return.
Absolute awesome service and great quality food. Ordered take out and walked to pick it up. Had a great adventure and meal. My friend and I both rated it 10/10 after we ate it all.
Quick service, food is amazing. Reasonable prices. Warm and cozy.
