Got an invite to meet some friends for dinner. The menu has good choices. The inside looks very chic and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. This restaurant was on my list to try and I’m so glad we went. Service is excellent and prompt. You don’t have to wait for any requests. The food is AMAZING!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at this location. The service was fast and friendly and the food abundant and tasty. It is a bit pricey, but a nice date night. We enjoyed sitting in the outside patio.

The prime rib here is PHENOMENAL. The best I’ve ever had easily. Cooked perfectly (medium rare), the Hawaiian salad dressing is creamy and delicious, and the Austin Hope cab wine was fabulous too. Finished the evening with the carrot cake which was also a must-have! Can’t wait to return, and if you get Alexis as your server you know you’ll be in good hands!!

Awesome service and food. It was my birthday. We were sat quickly and given references to places to go after since we weren’t from Kentucky. Had a great time!

One of my favorite restaurants in Louisville! I’ve had everything on the menu and it’s all great but I would suggest the filet mignon with Béarnaise sauce ? add not-so-ordinary mac & cheese and you have a perfect meal (see my pic) Very affordable and not overpriced like similar steak places. I take people here all the time and they always ask to go back!

Wish I hadn't waited so long to go here but do definitely worth it!! Each one of us enjoyed our different steak choices cooked to perfection! Food looked so mouth watering, we couldn't wait to dive in. Best steak!!Ah! But then came the warm gooey delicious carrot cake that takes comfort food to a whole new level!!Service - you'd only expect the best and we received it.Will happily do J. Alexander's Redland Grill again!!

Great steaks bc and prime rib, salads are large and delicious. And the free birthday carrot cakes was REAL, not half frozen stuff some steak houses pass off as desert

We went on a Saturday night about 7:00. The hostess explained they were only seating people with reservations even though numerous tables were empty. She also said the bar area was open seating, first come , first served. We found seats at the bar, then waited for a bartender to wait on us. She gave us menus and the"specials" list, adding two of the three were already sold out. I had come for one of the staple entree's, the prime rib, and ask if I could get it rare. She said absolutely and took our order. The salads came out promptly. Her's did not have any dressing on it, mine had very little. About 15 minutes later she informed us they had sold out of prime rib about an hour ago. I commented that was fairly poor service and she said she told the manager what happened. I kind of hoped to get an apology from the manager but never saw one. We were given a check for the salads and drinks, paid it and left. A very disappointing experience at a restaurant with such high standards.

This restaurant chain offers all American cuisine. Great steaks, burgers, salads, chicken and seafood, you should be able to find something you like. Quite nice atmosphere on top of everything else. Service could be better. They messed up our order but took care about it without any fuzz. The table had a few stains from the previous guest, which was swiftly removed. The check landed on our table half way through the meal, thus potentially missing out on additional sales (and tip). The food as such was very good. The fries are outstanding.

Very nice atmosphere! Great service! Our meals were cooked to perfection including the filet mignon medium rare! And just when we thought that they had reached the height of our pallets, the warmed, super moist carrot cake with creamy icing took it over the top! BRAVO! I will be going back and soon.
