Food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Prices were average. Clean restaurant. I had a half chicken with cabbage and green beans. Probably the best cabbage I've ever had. Cornbread was moist like cake, not gritty or dry. Would definitely go again.
Dear Sir in the white hat, I would never give anyone a negative review from an experience I had unless I was extremely disappointed. By know means is your food bad ,in fact that's why I patronize your business, you have some of the most delicious barbecue in town. But dealing with the attitude from the cashier acting like she didn't want to be there to waiting almost a half hour for my order before they called me up to the window to tell me they were out of what I ordered, then young man suggested something else and I had to sit there another 25 minutes. Thank you sir
Had one of the worst experiences ever waiting for my food! I had to wait 45 minutes for a pulled pork sandwich fries and a drink. I understand that they were understaffed, but the entire crew seemed disinterested and disengaged. The girl who took my order was extremely rude! She had no problem voicing her opinion about how tired she was and how long the day had been. After she took my order she offered no support to the kitchen personnel to help expedite orders and there were several staff just standing around laughing and joking. I will not be back and I don't recommend anyone go either. The lobby area was horrific! dirty unkempt and as I stated there were several personnel just standing around they could have easily came out and cleaned the lobby but they didn't.
Going to Holy Smokes BBQ was a very interesting experience. A friend of mine had been after me to try their 'Turkey' ribs.I was with another friend who had a taste for some barbeque pork ribs, which everyone knows that I don't eat pork, so I kindly declined to go. But, after much persuasion I gave in. Boy!, was I glad I did.I ordered a turkey rib dinner with two side orders. The meat on them felt like I was eating a smoked turkey leg. I will most certainly be going back for seconds.
Since this restaurant changed ownership, it has down downhill, big time. I have called at least 10 times over the past 2 months to order lunch for pick up. Only 1 time has the phone been answered, only to be told they were not taking pick up orders. To demonstrate their lack of attention to detail , over these last 2 months calling to place an order, a recording comes on and constantly repeats, but mentions specials in October and November of last year!. Today I called from Planet Fitness to order lunch, plus give them ample time to prepare the order. Was on the phone over 5 minutes, with that repeating message with the phone NEVER picked up. Wanted to see how long before my call was answered, but Holy Smokes wore me out and I gave up after the 5 minutes. Realize the challenge with labor and staffing, but the owners are clueless or simply do not care about customer service as the phones are as important as customers walking into the establishment
I’ve give 3 star because I didn’t get all the sides and the costumer service was just ok. Also my favorite meal was the slab of ribs, that was good. I’m not fan of the rib tips and the bbq sauces was good.
Did not have a good overall experience. Ordered the pulled chicken platter with green beans and hashbrown casserole. My whole meal was hardly warm. Overall decent flavor but the chicken was pretty dry. We dined in and hung around quite a while. About an hour later I was not having a good experience with the food I ate. Potential food poisoning. Heard great things about this establishment and had high hopes but this particular visit didn’t meet my expectations.
I just stood in there for 45 minutes to get a pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. As you can see both are in containers. If you are going to serve like this then it should only take 2-5 minutes at the most. You just lost a customer today. That review was for the wait. Now, the pork that I received was VERY DRY the extra bbq sauce could not save it. I have never been to a bbq restaurant that doesn’t serve sides with the meals (onions, peppers, or pickles) FREE. I threw most in the trash my $14.00 down the drain. It should not matter the day of the week. I saw at least 6 people working and I know it takes more but they have to step their game up and work!!! On the bun or not the pulled pork should not have been served and the bun was one step from being in the trash(as you can tell from the picture). But, all in all I’m not a fan of the food I received or the customer service. So, off to find me a new BBQ RESTAURANT!!!
YES. YES. YES. We came on a business trip and didn’t know where to eat. This was recommended from a colleague. There was about 25 of us and they gave us our food so fast!! The portions are huge and the prices are great! Not to mention the taste, I’ll probably never come back to Louisville ,but if I ever do I’m 100% coming here again!!
Not a fan, worst bbq I've had!!!! Sorry for the bad review but it's my duty to let the people know. Very nice establishment but in the BBQ world your price does not match the taste for me! Had the taste & amount of food on one order matched then this would have been a great review.
