Quite an experience. Walking in you smell the aroma of baked goods, salivate at the many options for your palate, view their lunch tables, and choose.Their desserts are mouth watering. Special orders do not phase them. This example on their counter reflects their creativity.
First time I have been to this bakery and it is a beautiful place, and the cake donut I had is awesome, not to sweet. The Cake looks great for my nephew.
I will not purchase anything from them ever again!! Called the Thursday before Easter to order a carrot cake. Was told it would be ready on Saturday and the cost would be $35. While I thought that was a little steep, it was cheaper than a couple of other places I had called. When I arrived on Saturday to pick up the cake, the staff was EXTREMELY rude!! Waiting on folks behind me while I stood in line, speaking very rudely to me and didn't even ask if I wanted to see the cake before leaving the store. When I got home and looked at the cake, it did look good. However, when we cut into it the next day during our Easter dinner, you could tell it was DRY. A couple of folks did try to eat the cake, but it was way too dry. Definitely not worth the $35 I paid for it.
Had a cake crisis on Saturday. Called Tony at the bardstown rd location and he was able to make me a cake the same day no questions asked. Cake came out more beautiful than I imagined in such a short notice. I’m talking like 2 hours. Cake what light and delicious. I would definitely order from them again!
Sweet old fashioned bakery with tons of bread and cake options. Very sweet staff too.Has bagels and cream cheese
Pretty disappointed. I’ve always heard good reviews about Heitzman Bakery but after receiving this cake for my 25th birthday, I was confused. Since high school, I always told my husband I wanted the SpongeBob cake for my 25th birthday. He was thoughtful and did it for me after all these years but honestly, the quality of the sugar print and the texture of the cake was bad. There are bubbles on the print and the cake on the inside was dry and flavorless. Spending $50 on this cake is very baffling to me.
These donuts are on point! Fresh fresh freshly baked. It's so soft and melts in your mouth. I had to cut a piece of each one to try it. If you have a sweet tooth, go for it.
Went for lunch. Not only did I have to repeat myself like 4 times. The sandwich still came out incorrectly. Waited like 15 minutes. Not returning to this location and will look for sandwiches elsewhere. The bread was underwhelming, even the pickles are gross. The cannoli’s didn’t have that bite you can get elsewhere. Everything was edible, but I found myself eating it out of spite rather than enjoyment.
Owner was rude, even when the cashier said it was her mistake and not mine about the order. Lost my order - had to wait 40 min- paid Extra for a croissant and got stale bread. Also purchased a king cake. I was a repeat customer- not anymore I won’t be back.
We had our daughters engagement party recently at Heitzmans. They have a party room that you can rent after hours. You are the only ones there so it is totally private. The room is great, the food was fantastic! We had a total dinner with drinks and dessert. Our server Megan did a great job also. Everyone attending our party complimented everything and were glad to learn about the venue. I definitely will use them again, its nice to be treated special.
