CASH ONLY! This isn't a bad thing, but please be aware, as it will delay you if you arrive without cash in your pocket. A truly spectacular little hole-in-the-wall ice cream/dessert shack. They definitely have a local flair and unique offering that shouldn't be missed.
Desserts are great. But management takes 60% of the tips (30% to Home of the Innocents, 30% to Humane Society) leaving 40% for the employees.Hey, Management. Here's a thought for you: Have three tip jars... One for the Employees, One for Home of the Innocents, One for Humane Society. I know where I'd put all my tips.
We love this place. A true staple for UofL college students, and anyone in the area on a hot summer day.
Dairy Kastle is a seasonal ice cream place that I highly recommend, if you're a UofL student. Open usually throughout most of the summer. The ice cream is fairly cheap and basic but please remember to bring CASH, because this place does not accept debit or credit.If the weather is nice the line will most likely be long thought.
The BEST place to go and get ice cream in Louisville! I have been coming here since I was a child with my Dad. Their ice cream is unmatched. The owner is super cool and Ive always loved the vibes and feel of this little ice cream place. Their chili dogs are great too !
If you didn’t know… when it warms up THIS is the place to be! MANY FUN FLAVORS and tons of ppl… but very few places to sit or park. Never the less…it’s a neighborhood staple and favorite ‼️
I love this place— so many yummy snacks here—but I had to give it four stars instead of five, because the wait can be pretty long, and one time recently, we had to repeat our order to a new server five times, and still one of our party was given the wrong order. She ordered a vanilla chocolate swirl ice cream on a sugar cone with chocolate Jimmie’s, but she got a vanilla orange swirl ice cream on a cake cone with rainbow sprinkles. It was actually kind of hilarious because every part of the order was wrong, but, not really funny for the person who had to eat it. She didn’t want to send it back at that point. I guess my only suggestion would be to tell new people that if they’re not getting it after the first couple tries, then they should ask for help.

Friendly faces, fast service (ok I know the lines can be long but they work hard) and of course, delicious treats! Their menu is insanely diverse, you're bound to find something you like or try something you've never had. Support local and visit Dairy Kastle! Beware: They close for the season when it gets cold, so don't wait too long... ☺️
I say this is an icon! Great treats, Great hardworking staff, and prices were unbeatable anywhere. Hot dogs, chili dogs, taco in a bag, all at very budget friendly prices. Chili dog under 2 dollars, hot dog a little over a dollar! Ice cream treats all fair priced! This is a neighborhood icon that had people lined up to get treats, but the service is fast!
