Great hang out spot for cheap drinks and fun karaoke. Not a fancy bar, but really good and fun vibes here. Staff is very friendly
Best karaoke in town. Kjs and bartenders are top notch. Crowd always into the music, especially on fri and sat.
They need to have new singers be able to get up & sing, not to long after they there to work them in to the mix. That is if u want new customers to stay & drink more then 1 or 2 beers & come back again with more people & good things to say.Just my opinion. ?
Had a large group there recently. Most of the people in the group sing, and sing well (some do for a living). Several put in request to sing and was never called after a hour and a half. I counted more than 7 people were repeatedly called to sing over and over ( and they couldn't even sing well) When asked where they (people in my group) was in the line up the reply was 22 people ahead. Needless to say we left and went to another location. I'm sure this establishment lost a great deal of money just from the group I was with. Poor business practice . So obviously if you're not a regular don't bother when going. Plus the host was obviously drunk, again poor business.
Dive bar with capacity for about 100 people at its absolute maximum. Good for a quirky crowd. Come for a brew and a good time.
Fun bar w karaoke, get there early
Friends rented the space to open early for a combined Birthday gathering. Staff was awesome, friendly, and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend.
This bar is super welcoming, the drinks aren’t too badly priced, and the karaoke is fun. But the real reason I will be patronizing this bar again is because the bouncers had 0 hesitation kicking out a patron who was bothering and grabbing women. They do not tolerate harassment! I felt extra safe here knowing that that kind of behavior doesn’t fly. Thank you again to the staff who worked last night for keeping me safe I appreciate you.
This is can be a really fun bar. Wish there was more room for the pool table though.
I love singing Karaoke! Karaoke at Akiko’s can be marked by plenty of audience participation and good drinks. Though tonight/ this morning the usual standards were not upheld, or they were and that actually speaks to a larger problem? Two men got up and sang a 90’s r&b classic. The two men were white and decided to sing the N-word several times during the song (literally several. And to some reading this you may say big deal, but I say have some respect and basic human decency). Someone in the crowed jumped up and said it was not ok. The person running Karaoke this night must not have felt the same way because they allowed the song to finish. The audience sat in an awkward silence until the song came to an end. If the owners and staff at Akikos feel that this type of performance is reprehensible I’d suggest they have some sort of protocol for such situations. Otherwise issues that occurred this time will continue to be a continuous issue.
