I had always wanted to eat at Ted Montanas. But there's not one close to where Iive, but a friend and I happened to be shopping in the area so we chose to give it a try. The restaurant is in a higher-end portion of a large shopping area with lots of shopping and restaurants. We went mid-day and the restaurant wasn't too busy. There's a great mix of booths, tables and bar seating. Request a booth, they're very comfortable. The vibe of the restaurant is a bit more on the traditional side of things and has a feeling of a casual chophouse. We ordered onion rings as our appetizer and bison burgers for our entrees. Food was very, very, good. Kimberlee was our server and did a great job. Was it the best restaurant I've been to this year? Not sure it makes it into my top 5, but I had absolutely no complaints whatsoever and I would definitely come back.
Loved the bison nachos! Scratch lemonade was fabulous! Atmosphere feels like the west ❤ Glad we stopped in! Will definitely go back!
Best thing were the onion rings. My bison filet was tasty but not cooked as I asked for medium rare, came out rare. The broccoli had little parmesan and tasted like it was smoked. Gave my son a piece of broccoli and he spit it out. My son's fries came out cold and his bison brisket was tasteless. My soda was more ice than soda. Big disappointment, have eaten at other locations and never had a experience this bad
This is my favorite Ted's Montana grill. I've been to others but Lexington KY is the best one. Food is always consistent, fresh, and taste amazing!
My adult son and I were looking for a good place to have a late lunch when we stumbled across Ted's Montana Grill in Lexington. Neither had ever eaten bison before, but the waiter was excellent and very helpful and guided we noobs into a culinary delight. He suggested the bison chili as an appetizer, which was a great suggestion, then brought us a sample of bison. The taste was nothing short of amazing! I ordered the bison brisket, which was, without a doubt, the best brisket I've ever tasted, hands down. The brisket was served with excellent mashed potatoes. The only disappointment about the food, to me, were the undercooked baby carrots, but I understand that most people like them cooked less than I do. Overall, the meal was excellent and we WILL be back. It was a little pricey, the cost for the two meals (not including the gratuity) was $90, but it was worth every penny of it. I guess I should mention the taste of bison. The bison we had at Ted's was very tender and much like a very tender beef steak. It was not "gamey" in the least, just an excellent rich taste that's much better than most beef steaks I've eaten.
I kind of stumbled onto this restaurant and I’m glad I did! The restaurant is very clean with perfectly spaced tables and booths. It’s very well appointed with a lovely bar that you can sit or have dinner at as well. I had a delicious house martini made with vodka. Perfect. They put pickles right on the table, which I devoured. I ordered the hot burger that had jalapeños grilled and guacamole and it was delicious. A perfect blend of hot and the cool guacamole. I asked for 50-50 for a side And that came with temperature hot onion rings and fries that were super delicious. I would definitely come back here.
I love Teds Montana Grill! I have been there 4-5 times and never had a bad meal. Granted, I usually order their steaks which I think are done every well. For Mother’s Day I decided to try something new- their Blue cheese burger. Now, I am huge fan of blue cheese, I know it is a strong flavored cheese with mold that gives it it’s unique pungent flavor. But, Ted, that was nothing but Blue and no creamy sharp cheese taste to temper it at all. It tasted and smelled like a mouth full of mold. I had to scrape as much off as I could and still found it inedible. I will continue to go to Ted’s because, as I said, I think they are a great restaurant that I enjoy. I just will be avoiding anything With the Blue cheese. Also, service was great even on a very busy da y!
I've never had a Buffalo burger or steak and I must say both were delicious. If you are in town this is a must. Great food, great service. The table and chair I sat in was a little wobbly but they were happy to switch. Great place!!!!

Food was great. Atmosphere was good, seat was ripped up. Waiter was a bit unremarkable. Would eat here again even though a bit pricey.
