We've tried several Indian places around Lexington, but the consensus is clear from my family: Taste of India is the best. We have had a tough couple of months, but after a hard day, some garlic naan and chicken tikka masala is just so comforting. They're always generous with the rice, the naan is always hot and fresh, and they also have a vast list of other offerings. (Like the chai. Their chai blend is just wonderful.) Their staff is always doing their best, and my family and I hope to continue having wonderful meals from here for many years.
Not being in town long, we chose the Indian restaurant closest to our hotel. It's hiding behind Five Guys. It's not much to look at, not elegant enough for fine dining, but it was good. We had the vegetable pakoras, which were good, a pappadum and a half with both mint and onion chutneys (in tiny, tiny containers), a mountain of rice, an order of plain naan that were large, and the entrees fairly slopped over the sides of their pots they were so full. I tried the coriander chicken (mild, but still spicy) and was delighted. My husband had the Karahi (said Kadahi in the menu) chicken and his was delicious. We'll get three more meals out of this because we're light eaters.
Food is good but their atmosphere is very mundane. Menu is very short, you will not get much choices of food.Food: 4/5
Went for lunch on a Sunday. No buffet. $18.50 for a Tikka massala. Too expensive. Food was very blend. The place doesn't look too clean. Atmosphere is worth than a cafeteria. Won't come back.
Excellent food! Went with the hot curry chicken, I could have went extra hot. But it was still beyond my expectations of this place. Big party, fast and friendly service, everyone loved their meal. I will be back when I’m in town. Highly recommended!
I was hoping for better after reading the reviews. The saag was mediocre at best, lentil soup was unlike any I've had and not in a good way. Lassi was ok as were the Naan. One server was friendly, the place is dirty and over priced. Won't go again
We had our first meal here and it was delicious. The aroma that greeted us when we first walked in was chefs kiss. From the food to the service we will definitely be back to eat. We had enough for leftovers and it tasted so good the next day.
Food was very expensive and not worth it.Got some biriyani and chai during my visit.Biriyani didn’t taste like a biriyani. Was just rice and curry mix. Had cubes of white rice in them where the curry they mixed didn’t reach at all.Chai tasted ok, not worth the price.Staff was neither friendly when I stopped to pickup my food.Would not try again or recommend this place.
When we ordered Chole Bhatura, they brought regular pooris instead of Bhaturas. We ordered our food spicy and they brought very mild dishes. None of the food items that we ordered had authentic taste. Very disappointed !
Friendly staff and good food so far as I can tell. I don't know anything about Indian food but I enjoyed theirs.
