I will preface this review with the fact that I lived in Japan, but the person dining with me didnât and he also hated this experience. Thereâs a reason why you can get a rez so easily. Despite the claim of having a chef from Japan, 90% of what we ate was terrible. Sashimi was not sliced in regulation⦠way too thick to eat. Sushi was boring, over priced and one note - spicy mayo. Yakitori was delicious but the Yakisoba was way too greasy. My $20 cocktail was served in what looked like a hotel bathroom glass. Servers were confused, completely frazzled. No one knew what food belonged to us or another table when it came out. Our food was placed on other another table several times. Music was jazz or some combo and it was loud, as were the lights (way too bright). Sushi, no. They need to go back to school.
Fun sitting next to huge bank vault - would love to eat at the table inside the vault. Sushi was just average and went right through me in an hour which caused me to return to hotel.
Enjoyed our meal here. The prices for the sushi was higher than youâd expect based on whatâs offered but it was good and the service was very good. Iâm surprised this place is not busier.
I was looking for food to help with a hangover, and some nostalgia. As a kid I grew up in Japan and I always remember going to eat at a ramen shop on the weekends. I just finished the “basic ramen”, (build your own) and I swear this brought me right back like I was at the ramen shop I always visited in Yokohama. Best ramen in Lexington, hands down. I’m looking forward to trying their curry.
Very good Ramen and Sushi! The atmosphere was great! We got to sit in the vault! We were a large party with several kids. They were accommodating and very pleasant. Service was a little slow but very good food
Fantastic sushi and fried rice. Service was terrible- waited for 45 minutes for our server to bring out two simple drinks (after the first request couldn’t be filled by not having all the ingredients but that took 15 min from order to being informed). Other tables seated after us seemed to be better served by other staff.
Great sushi but poor service. We waited for our server who asked if we were ready and then walked away. Tried to order two drinks off of the short specialty cocktail list to be told 15 minutes later that they were out of some of the liquor on a Saturday night! It took stopping someone else and telling them we had been seated for 45 minutes without getting drinks. Thank goodness the sushi was amazing! We had the Honey Bee, Porcupine and AAC. My daughter had ramen which she could build and my husband and I split the fried rice (this was enough for 4 people!).
