My family went to this restaurant on Saturday, May 28, for a celebration dinner in honour of my daughter graduating. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The server Brooklyn went above and beyond and was absolutely amazing. All 14 members of our party was amazed by her attentiveness. The food was flavorful delightfully good. We will definitely be returning. This restaurant is worth visiting.
My wife and I ate here for a night out without our children and this is a great date night spot. They have an excellent drink selection with great craft brews, local options, and 4 different types of Old Fashioned. I was a little disappointed in the rye old fashioned I ordered but I asked for a random rye (Sazerac) after they were out of my first choice (Michter's rye) so I'm blaming the slight lack of flavor on that. If they don't have the signature ingredient just choose a different drink and you'll likely be fine. The food was good, solid pub grub: we had a burger and the fish and chips and both were excellent. Overall very pleased and I'm sure I'll be back in the future.
We came here for dinner based on the good reviews, but I’d say it’s somewhat of a let down. Our server was very nice but the service itself was very slow. Our $10 Old Fashioned was served in a plastic cup and the appetizer was delivered after the meal (this was later comped but still…) The Bavarian Pretzels were amazing, definitely ask for a side of the seeded mustard if you order! As was the Strawberry Salad, except that the Balsamic Vinaigrette was extremely oily. We also ordered the Grilled Salmon with 2 sides..and all were very disappointing. The meager piece of salmon was over cooked and tasted almost burnt due to the grill marks. The Grilled Jumbo Asparagus came with only 3!! asparagus, 2 of which were undercooked and raw tasting. And I was very excited to try the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese, but the flavor was so underwhelming. We probably won’t be coming back.
We made a reservation ahead of time. They seated us in front of the kitchen. They had plenty of staff, but they were socializing with each other instead of taking care of customers. They acted like they were doing us a favor when they finally took our drink orders. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Our 1st visit last night was great! Food was delicious! Generous portions, served neatly & at the proper temperature. Prices were as expected for such a historic & enjoyable setting. Mix-up with 2 of our credit cards is the reason for 4, instead of 5, stars.
Fries exceedingly salty - could not eat, Idiot burger lacked flavor - BBQ sauce on pulled pork would have been nice, hamburger was not seasoned. Bread pudding over baked, nearly burned.Staff gossiped and complained in front of patrons entire time ( we were sitting at the 2nd floor bar).
We stopped based on other reviews. The was no wait but they was long pauses between drinks, ordering and food. The asparagus app (6$) consisted of 3 pieces of asparagus. We found this comical and ludicrous. But okayyy. Ordered a salad with salmon cooked well, and a burger. The salmon was served rare and then returned burnt ?. Burger was ok with cool temp fries. I get the busy, and the weekend and downtown prices, but this was just not even a little ok. Our server was pleasant and engaging so, there's that.
I had the idiot burger and lemme tell you. Everything was 100 percent amazing. Even the fries had a taste to die for. Would def revisit, especially sitting outside on a spring evening.Parking is tough.
I am in Lexington for work and chose to come here for dinner. Nor only was the atmosphere spot on but the staff were very friendly. I sat at the bar and the bartender (Mesa?)that waited on me was very nice and did a great job of making sure I had everything I needed. I like fruity IPA’s and she gave me a good recommendations as to which ones were closest to that. I ordered the chicken-less wings with buffalo and ranch. If you like the healthy part of cauliflower but want something fried totally try this. Entree I was indecisive between three and with her help I decided on the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. The gochujang slaw was a perfect sweet and tangy flavor to go with the fried chicken. If you are ever in Lexington I defiantly recommend. I know for sure that I will be returning when I’m back in town.
Everything about Postmasters Pub is incredible. The location, the ambiance, the food, the drinks, and the service! Simply outstanding. Please do not change a single thing!
