Always excellent food. Best bread in Lexington. Service was a bit inattentive. Server was nice just did not come around very often.
I can't actually review the entrees, wet never got that far.It didn't seem busy, but somehow it server managed to take our drink order and appetizer order at the same time. Appetizer came to us before our server managed to bring out or drinks (sodas & waters), we did not order cocktails. So after about 20 minutes,, where we couldn't get anyone's attention, we received an appetizer before we could get waters. We sat there for 10 more minutes or so and we're finally brought drinks. And it took another15 minutes or so for our server to come back, by that time we were all so hungry we would have stayed and ordered had our server not told us to order in a few minutes because she was too busy. Our server wasn't very friendly or professional, the place was very outdated and seemed dirty-that was when i asked for the bill for what we did have, and left. I had hungry kids at this point, there was no way we could have waited. That was our first time there, there will not be a second.
Great food and great service highly recommend.
Fat Man Reviews found its way to Paisano's Italian Restaurant & Lounge in Lexington, KY. Paisano's is an Italian restaurant serving traditional pizza & red-sauce classics plus they offer a full bar.I started off with a cup of Minestrone soup containing green beans, corn, carrots, potatoes, celery, tomatoes and cabbage. It looked like the veggies came from a can. The soup was heavy on the Italian seasoning and had a slight bitter taste, possibly from red wine vinegar. It was different, not bad, just not my favorite.I tried the Paisano's Sampler, including chicken Parmesan, lasagna, Italian sausage, and spaghetti with meatballs. I could tell that pretty much all of it had been made earlier and sat for a while. The Italian sausage was excellent. The casing snapped, and the flavors were great, I really enjoyed this. The chicken Parm was not bad. It was juicy, breaded and cooked well. It just tasted a little old. I could tell by the cheese on top of the lasagna it had been sitting and when cutting into it, the top layer of cheese came with it. The noodles were a bit over done, but the flavors weren't bad, and it was not dry. The meatball was a little burnt on the outside, but it was not dry just had been sitting for a while. The spaghetti was ok. The red sauce was really, wonderful. It tastes authentic, homemade, with a little sweetness, light garlic and oregano flavors, and chunky. My fiancé tried the Baked Manicotti, large pasta noodles stuffed with ricotta cheese and topped with homemade sauce and mozzarella. The shells were overcooked and dry, the cheese was bland but fresh. The sauce again was the star and delicious.Paisano's Italian Restaurant & Lounge offers a lot of different traditional Italian dishes ranging from chicken to veal and veggie. They also serve several anti pasta appetizers, salads and desserts. They are a small place, so plan ahead. The service was okay, but the server was new. Paisano's Italian Restaurant & Lounge is not Fat Man Approved.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic Italian cuisine with a great atmosphere!
Five stars for the food and I’d give six for the service if I could. My only regret is it took me thirty years of driving past this place before I stopped to try it.Wow. Looking forward to my next visit!!
First time ever eating here, my husband and I got manicotti and calamari rings. The manicotti tasted like a microwave banquet meal, and the calamari was disgusting. They may have awesome dishes aside of the manicotti, but as for me I would have rather spent my money on Fazoli's. I do not recommend this entree. It was also supposed to come with Caesar salad as a side LOL and unless Caesar salads have changed it was definitely a classic salad. May try again and go with a different meal.
Met a good friend for dinner and this place is fantastic. I ordered the chicken marsala which was amazing although I was not able to D o more than taste before running out for an unexpected hospital visit . The decor and atmosphere are great and I can't imagine a better date resteraunt. I will be back to finish, enjoy that meal
We have been coming here for years, and wish we had known about it sooner. I'm getting a kick out of those negative Tripadvisor review below.....this is a not a high-end restaurant and doesn't pretend to be one, so get over it....or go somewhere else. Paisano's IS a quaint little Italian restaurant with good food, never crowded, the servers are always friendly, and it's a romantic little getaway for two.....every time. And with Frank Sinatra singing in the background....well, it's just about perfect. We have tried nearly everything on the menu, and it's always always good.
Paisano's is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. The food, service, and atmosphere have always been exceptional ever since I was a kid. I have never had anything less than a wonderful experience there.
