This was my first time eating at this restaurant, but it was such a great experience, I had to go ahead and leave a review. The food was outstanding and the customer service was just amazing. Paige was our cashier and she was the absolute sweetest! She recommended my husband's whole meal (my son and I got the lunch deal) and she was just so nice. We were checked on multiple times by her and other employees. The three of us left very, very happy!

Once back in Kentucky, Fat Man Reviews made a stop into Joella's Hot Chicken Hamburg in Lexington, KY. Joella's serves Nashville hot chicken and southern sides in 17 locations throughout 5 states.I tried the Jumbo Tenders, grilled, with green beans, greens, hot honey sauce, Jo Jo sauce and BBQ Cheerwine sauce. The green beans and greens were cooked well but they both entirely lacked seasoning. The chicken was juicy and tender but, it could use a little seasoning as well. The Cheerwine has a nice hickory flavor, but it is not overly sweet. The JoJo sauce is very similar to Chick-fil-A sauce, but it is a little thicker with slightly more mustard. It was my favorite. The hot honey is very sweet with a delightful heat finish, but it is very thin as well.My fiancé had the Jumbo Tenders, fried, in Ella's favorite sauce with fries and Bama white sauce. The chicken was cooked well and crispy. Ella's favorite sauce is a well flavored sauce with a touch of heat on the back end. The Bama dipping sauce is money, it is creamy with great horseradish flavor. The fries were a little soggy, but the Parmesan cheese added a nice touch.Joella's has several chicken plate selections with varying heat levels. They also serve vegan dishes and beer. It is counter service, but everyone was pleasant. The Fat Man says the Joella’s Hot Chicken - Hamburg is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.

I was so excited when I heard we were getting a Joella's in Hamburg. We would drive out of the way to get their chicken previously. This location is great as well. They have great service and the food is always delicious. I am so glad that they added the ghost pepper sauce. Their Parmesan fries are a MUST get.

This was my 1st time there. Everything was cold. Chicken was cold, but good, would've been a lot better hot. Told a girl my Parmasean garlic fries were cold, she said she would get some hot ones, but never came back. I told the manager and she gave an excuse that she was short of help.

We stopped in for a late lunch and these lil sliders hit the spot. I had the Ella's Fav and it was just the right amount of heat. The cashier also suggested the pimento ranchero dipping sauce and it was the right pairing. I also got a side of Mac and cheese and it was nice so deliciously cheesy.

Really juicy good chicken! Spiciness was on point and dipping sauces were great! Green beans were delicious. Fries were a little too greasy but good overall. Expected slightly bigger chicken pieces, but got full so can't complain. Very nice service as well!

There are many famous duos in history. Chicken and waffles can certainly make a case for being the best. And Joella's does it right. Chose your preferred heat level (I picked "Ella's Fav"). A few short minutes later, out comes a plate that will make your mouth water. The waffle soaks up the sweet syrup which complements the bit of heat from the chicken. Well done!

Came with some friends to this location last night. I had exceptional customer service from McKenzie and Lilly, the manager. They made my visit welcoming, and we had fun! The food was delicious, as always. I just wish I was able to get two sides instead of one. The prices jumped way up, and they took off a side from the tender meals which originally had two in the past. I would come more often if that changed! Amazing food, though! Hands down the best Chicken place in Lexington.

They had good chicken and I signed a waiver to receive the spice level I wanted. It had the heat and the waiver was a good idea, most couldn't comfortably eat food at that heat level. It was really good, chicken was moist and tender and yes, spicy! My teenage son enjoyed it as well. The perfect addition to the chicken was the pie in a jar!! It was amazing to have such a change of pallet after the chicken, we all loved it! Have gone back, love Joella's chicken.

We are from northern Kentucky and usually go to the Joellas in crescent springs, and we love it. This location, however , is gross. No sweet tea available. Dirty atmosphere. The chicken was hard and chewy and the Parmesan fries were stale… literally like gum. My kids , who eat anything, said “this is nasty” about five minutes into the meal. I also got a nice lecture from an employee about paying for ranch despite me telling the cashier about 4 times that we need 3 sides of ranch. Not my fault if she didn’t charge me. Won’t be back !
