I managed a convention at this facility. They were gracious and responsive to the inevitable challenges with a non-professional (and non-local) managing the convention. Attendees were pleased with the food, and thought the rooms were comfortable. LOTS of restaurants and a beautiful park within walking distance. Staff was outstanding: helpful and cheerful. When American cancelled the flights home for several members due to weather (so no accommodations for the displaced passengers), Hyatt welcomed them back, sending a shuttle to get them and extending the convention rate. Truly a company that understands that they are in the hospitality business!
The hotel itself is good enough (but dated, worn rooms) however the staff made up for that and therefore the hotel gets a 4. Staff consistently did what they could to assist my stay. The location is great, free parking, comp airport shuttle. Lobby area is attractive. The room was nothing special but the bed was very comfortable. AC did not work properly but made the room cool enough on what were hot days.
The Hyatt is a great property in a great location. Located adjacent to Rupp Arena and overlooking the "Square." Walking distance to UK Campus and Historic Downtown Lexington. Has ample parking lot parking (not a garage.)
The hotel was old and rundown. Vending machines did not work or were empty. The room was not as clean as it should have been for the stay. Front desk was not very helpful. The walls are very thin. I could hear the conversations in the other room very clearly.
Air conditioning was not working and room was 80 degrees. It was miserable. Also went to the lobby at 12:30 am and it was packed with a huge conference and speaker right in the lobby. I had to squeeze my way through as they looked at me with disgust because I was interrupting there meeting.
Room was as expected and clean. Elevators took at least 10 minute wait twice for us. Breakfast took about about 15 minutes for an order (not the buffet). Maybe not a knock on the Hotel but triangle park is to be avoided due to homeless take over, even some really crazy ones to avoid.
Great location if you are into the downtown scene of a city but if you like quiet with no traffic then this would definitely not be a place to go. As far as the room we had a standard room with a king bed and I would say that it was a little above average in quality. Great view of downtown and the triangle park. As far as that Bluetooth speaker that a previous reviewer was going on about. It’s just a normal speaker with a clock….nothing really special?
The good: friendly, helpful staff. Location. And the restaurant is pretty good. Rooms are comfortable and pretty well appointed. Wifi works great. Fantastic location. Lobby bar is nice. The not so good; The room furniture is nicked up a bit. The TV technology sucks. The elevators are slow. The fitness “center” is tiny. And not well equipped.
Check in was fast and easy. employees were all nice. Biggest complaint, why in the name of all things good do they only put 2 towels and 2 wash cloths ion a room here you are staying for multiple nights? I know that I could ask for more and that COVID protocol this is that staff doent visit thr roomn but come one
We had a great experience thanks to the staff and accommodations. We have another conference here next month and we are excited about our return. The hotel is in great condition and in a wonderful location. Plenty of options for food and drink as well as nightlife.
