Food was awesome!!! Service and friendly smiles!!!!!

Just not my favorite Mexican restaurant in town, yet I know a lot of people do enjoy this place. Parking lot is rather small. Margaritas did not seem to have much alcohol. The black beans were bland. For my friends birthday they forced a shot down her throat (held her head back and fed her the shot) and then put whip cream on her nose. Perhaps this is the traditional way, and while it was funny and my friend was ok with it... She missed her lime, salt, and freedom to take the birthday shot as she wished.

I will have to confess that we are part of the local crowd that eats at El Toro's (or as the locals say, ET's) a lot so I am somewhat bias. As with a lot of family owned Mexican restaurants across the country, you get to know the owners/staff. So since it has been a couple of years since I posted, here is an update. Service is still quick and if the small kitchen, if not overloaded, like on a Friday night, is quick as well. They have a small patio. Margarites come in a variety of flavors but regular, mango and strawberry seems to be the favorites as a general rule. Margarites are ALWAYS two-for-one so keep that in mind if you order one. I saw a bad review one time where someone said they always serve in plastic cups. Not true, only on Cinco de Mayo is that the case, demand overload supply.

Wife and I ate here for a late afternoon lunch around 2 pm. We ate out on the patio which we passed on the way in. Excellent weather to eat outside.Food was great. I had two burritos, one with chicken and on with beef.It came out on a good sized platter with beans and rice along with some tomatoes and lettuce and guacamole (I think it was guacamole). The chicken was nicely seasoned. If your not sure about chicken give this one a try you'll not be disappointed. Darn good! Pleasant gal seated us and our server was jovial and did not try to rush us and the desert he suggested was great(Churros with ice cream) and it just finished a great meal.Thank you El Toro restaurant for the great meal and pleasant employees you employ.Tim & Ingrid

Lots to choose from. We got fajitas and chimichamgas. Everything came out hot and tasted great. Fried ice cream was superb. Servers kinda frenzied and we never were sure which one was ours. Atmosphere is a bit loud and parking lot too small.

The people were sooo nice and they speak Spanish and the beans charro sooooooo delicious. Drinks top notch. Highly recommend.

good food nice place to eat

We go here because my hubby loves their margaritas- theyre stong and flavorful. The food is ok. You'll find better, you'll definitely find worse. The service is on point and friendly. It's one of those 2-3 times a year place for us.

I just want to say that El Toro has been our favorite Mexican restaurant in Lexington for the last 12 years. We love coming here with our good friends and combined we have 9 kids and they never blink an eye. They are always so kind and the service is great and they don’t mind that we are such a big group! The food is really good and I recommend the fish as well as the birthday celebration!

Everything was great. Fast service good food. Cheese dip was thick and not watered down. They didn't mind that our little one was making a mess.
