Nice service and clean with rustic decor. The Mac and cheese was flavorless, cornbread was dry. My Lolo's pulled pork was fine, just lack flavor. I wasn't a big fan of their coleslaw or their sauces. Wife ordered the chipotle bbq which tasted like an $11 manwich. I think if they addressed some of their seasonings, it could be a great place
This place has improved since we last visited. The portions are larger and the BBQ was great. Really good.
Their service was great. Their food is beyond good. I loved their BBQ and their sides. They give huge portions and sides. You will not leave hungry. Their portions are so generous. The folks there are so friendly. The gentleman who works hard firing the ovens, the folks working the back, the gentleman who cuts the meat like an artist at work, the manager they are a real package deal. I will highly recommend this restaurant.
Food is cool some things better than others. I want to say the lemonade is amazing but the last time I went it was so watered down I wondered if it was a fluke the first time. The banana pudding is delicious and will be the reason I return.
It was awful there was no silverware out the meat was dry they didn't want to give us barbecue sauce.Took over 30 minutes to get our plate the baked beans are more sauce than beans the iced tea is really watered down.We're here right now if you're thinking about coming here I suggest you don't we won't come back.
This restaurant has the worst customer service I have experienced in Lexington. The call back and ordering system is simply awful. Do yourself a favor and go to Sonny’s instead. Very friendly, awesome food, and fast service. So glad I moved on.
We ate here while staying in Kentucky. The baked beans were so good! They had a great flavor, sweet & juicy, not thick & dry like some places. I would even say they were some of the best I’ve ever eaten out. I loved the buttered bread. It was served just right. It was soft & lightly toasted, not so hard you thought you’d loose a tooth or soaked in so much butter that you left with those greasy little finger spots all over your clothes. The BANANA PUDDING..HEAVENLY!! Also this is one of few BBQ places where you can still order smoked bbq chicken breast on the BONE!!!! For some reason most bbq restaurants only offer BONELESS chicken breast, pulled chicken, and believe it or not, some do not even offer chicken at all!!! I know it’s crazy!! If you’re going to have a BBQ restaurant…you need to throw some chicken on the smoker & add it to the menu. Add leave it on the BONE too!!! That’s the way to serve Bbq chicken & CITY BARBECUE got it right!! ??
Good food but 4th time we have eat here and the staff is nothing nice they are just plain and simple rude to where we seen another customer having the same experience and we asked them if they were paying for the politeness plain and simple need to work on people skills for the price they charge if you like bbq it is good but the rest is horrible
Came in on a Monday at closing and Rick and the staff were amazing. Fixed me a couple pulled pork sandwiches and potato salads. Very nice and accommodating. The food was good.A Big Thank you!
The food is good, but way over priced. I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket and with the basket AND the paper it was wrapped in, it weight only 7.45 oz instead of 8 oz. It should weigh more with the paper basket and the paper it comes wrapped in. The price for that 1/2 pound: $ 12.99 I am not going back. They are too proud of their food in my opinion.
