Something has changed @Cinco de Mayo on Richmond Rd. Possibly under new management and still working things out. Haven't seen any of the regular staff there since Cinco de Mayo. Always stop by for some of their amazing Cinco de Mayo dip and a Margarita. Stopped by last Sunday and while the dip was still amazing. the Margarita was un-drinkable. Tasted like cheap margarita mix. Couldn't even taste the tequila. And we has ti wait until 1 pm before they would serve alcohol. which is strange as we've been served at noon on past visits. I hope this is just an adjustment period.
I went in this week with my friend for dinner here. It took a little while for us to be seated, and it seemed like they weren’t busy. Once we were seated, it took our server a while to get to us and the food ordering process. When I ordered, I got a margarita with my order and at the time he did check my ID, but he came back a few seconds to look at it. He took a few seconds looking at it acting like something was suspicious about it, but gave it back to me. Then, another guy came out to check my ID again saying our server thought it was fake. I couldn’t help but kind of let my jaw drop because it was my legal ID, and how would someone who serve alcohol not even know what a real ID looks like. Not to mention I’m using a KY ID in KY, he should know that better than other ones. It definitely killed my mood for the rest of the dinner and my friend felt the same way. I definitely won’t be returning because the last thing an honest person wants is to be accused of being dishonest by a stranger who can’t do their job properly.
We started the evening off coming to Lexington for an escape room and ended up staying for dinner. I am so pleased we decided to eat at Cinco de Mayo. The staff, especially our waitress, was nothing short of amazing. We were there to celebrate my birthday with my three young adult and two teenage children. They were very accommodating (one has severe food allergies) and prompt. The food was hot, on time and deliciously full of flavor. My kids of course decided to let them know why wewere there and they brought out a sombrero (which I got to keep), a brownie sundae and even took a family picture for us. I definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for a nice, friendly, clean place for dinner.
The best dining out experience I’ve had in Lexington. Their general manager is an absolute gem and crafts some creative, delicious drinks if you ask! Such good food and, dare I say, the best margaritas in town! (Get the piña colada and strawberry flavors mixed together… trust me (and their awesome manager)).
Probably the best Mexican food in Lexington. Our waiter was great. I don’t remember his name but he had long hair wore glasses. We came in after our kickball game. He was on it didn’t have to get his attention if we needed something he was already bringing them. We told him we would leave a great review for him because he deserves it. Great food environment could be spiced up a little bit who cares when there food is that good
We've been going to Taco Tuesdays ($1 tacos) for months consistently and have built a rapport with the staff and the manager Christian. We've always been treated well, and when there is an error they've always gone out of their way to fix it. Tonight was a different story. We ordered Grilled Chicken Tacos (which we've ordered in the past for $1/taco, as the taco Tuesday special suggests) but tonight they were $3.25 each, and I was not notified beforehand. I placed my card down at the end of the meal before seeing the check (I trust this staff that I thought I knew I wouldn't be scammed) and the server processed the order and gave me the copy to sign for a tip.Once I saw that we were charged 3x the price that we expected, I told the new manager Jeremiah that we were never told the grilled chicken tacos and the shredded chicken tacos were different prices. In the past they have been the same price. Jeremiah proceeded to tell us he cannot fix it and that we know now. I told him how that feels a bit like a scam, to say tacos are a dollar each then charge me $3.25 per taco, and then he said he would take a dollar off each taco for us. He left and came back with the same receipt and told us he could not fix the price, due to food costs. We've had problems in the past where the check needed to be altered due to an error or miscommunication on the staff's side, and it was fixed, so the manager lied to our face. The food is great, but buyer beware, some of the specials are false advertising and if Jeremiah is the manager that evening you will be paying full price so that it doesn't "affect their food costs."
9 of us including (4 kids from 2-14) so we aren't always the easiest table. I've served so I know. The food was great (and accurate) and came out quick. Carlos who we found out later was a new server handled everything we threw at him and handled it well-refills alone kept him busy-but we looked out for him. Good hire Cinco de Mayo! Management was great as well.
Food was good as always! They give you big portions. I was so full I couldn't finish my meal!!
The manager is a great guy and the staff is really nice. The food is amazing too.
Had a great time and an amazing dinner w margaritas. Our server was fantastic and very sweet. The manager Christian was great, checked on customers, lively personality. Can’t wait to come back. If you are interested in dessert, they have a mouth watering cheesecake chimichanga that’s too die for!
