As far as I know this was the first time we’ve ordered at at Cheng’s since the pandemic. They were FAST! I mean less than 15 minutes! Went to our old favourites of General Tsao, beef and broccoli, hot and sour soup, and vegetarian spring rolls… $48. Got it home and four persons were satisfied …
UNDERWHELMEDUse to have good food. But they seem to have gotten so busy that their quality has suffered for their bottom line. Specifically, the last 4 times I ordered pork fried rice it was barely fried and didn't contain much else than rice. It looked like they threw in a few pieces of pork and squirted with soy sauce.and called it fried rice. The sweet and sour pork was over cooked---hard like a rock.Additionally, we always order over $120 worth and always request their homemade mustard for the crab Rangoon's and are willing to pay. However, the lady at drive thru (one of the owners) always seems unfriendly and annoyed.with us.Several times I thought they we're just having an off day but after this last time I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt. I won't be coming back which is sad I just live a block down the road.
Ordered from Cheng's last night and was physically ill for hours after eating their sesame chicken. Very thankful my kids didn't like the taste and didn't eat any of it. Very disappointed to get food poisoning from a place with such high ratings.
Exceptionally well prepared food with generously portioned proteins that are of well and away higher quality than anywhere I've had. This is no ordinary Asian fare that is well worth having.
The General Tsos, crab cheese wontons, orange chicken, and hot and sour soup are all the best I’ve found in West Lexington. Their drive through pickup is super convenient. They are kind and quick. I hope they open the dining room soon, as I think this would be a great date night location.
Great food, great service. Love the General Tso’s and Hot and Sour Soup.
Cheng's is a real treat for people looking for fast and yummy Chinese-American staples. Prices are $1-2 more than you might find at similar restaurants but the quality of the food is so much higher it is always worth the upgrade. Tempura chicken is always juicy and crispy. Lo mein is chewy and flavorful. Veggies are never flavorless mush, but bright and crunchy. Highly recommended!
Ordered by doordash. Absolutely the best Chinese I've ever had!
Cheap, but really bland. Even the lomein and fried rice was lackluster. Had higher hopes, since I've heard so much praise from others.
Best Chinese in Lexington. Been here 11 years and had a lot of Chinese food. Cheng’s is the best!
