Had lunch there 2 June, with three other friends. We didn’t know what to expect but am always willing to try new things and we were not disappointed.The portions were large, the food great, and the managers and workers were great. They were pleasurable and helpful in what to pick.With all of the seating being taken and their air conditioner out they grabbed a table and chairs and put it outside for us to sit. It was a nice area, shaded and cool. Thanks Jenny and team!!!
Great service! Friendly smiles all around, the lamb gyro was disappointing and didn’t have the flavor I became used to. The sides were decent and it might’ve just been an off day! I used to stop by all the time in the location across from Starbucks and it just didn’t hit the same this time around. A little pricey for the portion/qualityI’ll be back to give it another go.
We ordered lamb chops and the chicken Santorini. The chops were good but some were well done, some were rare. The chicken Santorini salad was not well prepared. The salad was mixed with the chicken sauce! (at least it should have been served in a separate small platter).The place is a bit cold (atmosphere wise), music was low compared to the kitchen noise etc.We dined in the Athenian grill downtown branch before, however the experience was totally different.This place has a great potential and I hope to see some changes soon.

Absolutely delicious. A must when visiting Lexington. Well made, tasty food and friendly staff. Got the veggie plate with roasted vegetables, lemon potatoes and Greek salad. And all was very tasty. Service was friendly. This restaurant is a must visit when visiting Lexington. This is a small restaurant and seating is extremely limited, so prepare to carry out.
Don’t let the location scare you. Being Greek, this is as close as you get to authentic. Our dinner included small Greek salad which was enough for a meal. The gyros sandwich was good but short on meat. The roasted potatoes were just like Mom made as was the green beans w red sauce. The upstairs dining area was a bonus. Next time we pass through Lexington, we’ll eat here. Yasass!
Athenian grill has never disappointed. The food is delicious and the portions are great value! I love the sides that you can choose from (roasted lemon potatoes and roasted veggies are my go-to's). If shopping at Kroger, we quite often stop by Athenian to grab food - it's hard not to.
Best gyros in town, food as tasty as always. But I think the food is no longer worth the price. From the last time that my wife and l went there, I gotta say that they cut the portions: my wife had one side of our favorites lime potatoes, and they literally only served 6 potato chunks!, besides, they put in the gyros less meat and more vegetables. Not to mention the slow and clumsy service. They misunderstood my order and wrote down a side of rice instead of a side of FRIES. They didn't even bother to confirm the order with me at the register, and Igot to noticed their error until they brought the food to our table. They told me they would fix that, but they never did. We had to go downstairs to ask why they were taking long to send the drinks and the missing fries. After literally more than one hour after ordering, we finished the rest of our food, and never got the side of fries. We lost our patience and ended up just getting out. I never imagined that being busy with lots of orders could be an excuse to not give the customers what they paid for and give a terrible service. It's a pity that the other branch (Downtown) closes earlier than this one.
Absolutely delicious! So glad they are back and running. The classic mix gyro will never dissapoint. The red pepper hummus is also a must! Everything I have had here has been great!
