I rarely give five stars. For me, five stars for a restaurant means the food, atmosphere and prices must all be excellent. So, this place is crazy. Small little place with two tables for four and about a half dozen stools at the counter. Very eclectic decor. Staff were friendly and just plain nice and fun people to deal with. I had some tasty local beers, to include a Kentucky bourbon barrel ale and a beer called Cougar Bait. Both good beers. I then went for the sampler menu, apparently featured due to this place being on the tv food show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Two perfectly and lightly fried oysters. A slice of crawfish pie that was mouth watering. Pulled pork that I topped with a tasty local pepper sauce that they had on the counter as a condiment. Pork was tender and flavorful. You get one side and I got the cheese/garlic grits. Again, mouth watering and full of flavor. The added piece of french bread and little iceberg lettuce with homemade french dressing nicely rounded out the meat. I added the appetizer of fried asparagus. They were properly fried with a great light breading. The added horseradish sauce was delicious and not too overbearing. Dessert was their house made pecan pie that was worthy of top pecan pie status anywhere. I came out with a bill for around $30. The conversation was great because I was the last customer. Loved the decor. Lot of road construction in front of the place but there is free public parking less than a hundred yards away. This is a must stop if in Frankfort. I cannot imagine how other places in Frankfort are ranked higher.
Loved it! Rick was there. Greeted everyone and made sure everyone was happy with their food. The food was delicious. We got a sampler platter so we could try a variety and it was all fantastic
Just went to Rick's for the first time and we have been missing out! The owner is a character!! Zoe and Clinton were so nice. The cajun food is awesome. We've never had cajun food in New Orleans that was that good. We'll definitely be back!
First time here but won't be the last. Had crawfish pie, crawfish etouffe and jambalaya. All were delicious. Wish the portions were just a little larger. Much better than most food we have had in NOLA. Server was wonderful, very nice. Give it a try!
There is nothing on this menu you will disappointed with!!! This is a must eat if you are in the area
Great food sometimes is found in very, very out of the way places. Ate outdoors. Six of us, all different items. All very impressed. Cajun like you expect in bayou country.
The absolute best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. Great coffee. Rick is a very entertaining story teller.Loved the place don't let the road construction scare you off GO! You won't regret.
Awesome food…the jambalaya was the best I have had!
Sat outside due to road construction in front of business. Service was good & fast. Had the oyster po boy. Was okay, on the small side for $17.95. Construction has a major impact on the restaurant & continues for months making it almost inaccessible.
Great oyster po boy. The owner is a character and makes eating there an experience. The slaw and hush puppies were really good. Coolest place to eat in Frankfort.
