The place is a hidden gem! From the exterior we were a little nervous, but when we went inside the area doubled! Clean, quaint, great seafood, salad bar is okay. The service was amazing and super friendly! And the view isn’t too shabby, with the river running and birds flying around!!! Worth the stop!!!!
I have always enjoyed Jim’s Seafood “pound” of whitefish special. I hadn’t had it since 2019. Tonight I just had a craving for what I remembered being “good whitefish.” So I called and ordered it to go for hubs and me for dinner. Talk about disappointing. The fish wasn’t anything like it used to be. The fries were terrible. The Cole slaw was old. The iced ice was just this side of being sour. And the worst of it…. Instead of being $13.99 as advertised on a menu I found online, the price was $$18.99, plus the $2.99 for a “to go” iced tea. They say shop and eat locally. Well I tried to do that this evening at a place I used to really enjoy. No more…
Food was bland tasted frozen not fresh. No flavor.
Food was good. Service was great. Full bar.
Food was excellent. Would do 5 stars but it took us 2.5 hours to get waited on and get our food. Plus I ordered a 4 piece platter and didn't get my last 2 pieces till everyone else was done eating. We had a group of 14 so maybe they are understaffed. But the food was good.
It's a nice place. I tried some sea food and it was really delicious.
This is the second time we've been. Our server, Beth was awesome. Super nice and attentive. The food was again, really good. I loved the clam strips, and the deviled crab. We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer those were also very good We barely saved room for dessert, but glad we did. The pies were really good. We tried the peanut butter one and the key lime. My aunt enjoyed the blackberry cobbler. We will definitely be back. Worth the drive from Bardstown
This was a society function with approximately 25 ladies in attendance. One server, Miranda, announced she would be taking care of us. She took our orders, after our meeting was over she returned to deliver by standing at the end of either long 10-seater table and yelling out what the plate consisted of. I ordered an appetizer and never received it. She took it off my bill. Several others had side items sent back because they were cold. There was no one who refilled our drinks. A couple of the attendees went and found the drink pitchers and refilled drinks till empty. We asked for the pitchers to be refilled…and waited. When I commented to the male manager he snapped at me and said they only had two servers for the entire restaurant. We were there at lunch and the main restaurant didn’t appear that busy. He told me to “chill out.” If SOMEONE had initially told us they were short staffed it would have gone a l-o-n-g way toward understanding. My meal was average, nothing to incite me to rush back again. The River view was OK. In this day of post-COVID short staffed establishments, generally people are understanding and even pitch in to assist. We appreciate those who DO show up to work, as Miranda did.
We really enjoyed our dinner. My husband got the seafood gumbo and thought it was fabulous. He also got the shrimp platter and was very happy with it. I got the grilled chicken, which was just ok, but I didn't expect much from a seafood place. The potato skins were huge...massive. I really appreciated that it didn't smell fishy inside...especially as someone who doesn't eat any seafood. Altogether a good meal, we will back for the food and view.
Neat place, great view. We were traveling south and it was the perfect lunch stop. Others in my party were pleased with there meals and rightfully so. I ordered the crab cake lunch special. I should of asked about the "veggie seasoned breading" it was not what I expected and difficult to eat. They were made with imitation crab and other fillers I couldn't identify. This place is absolutely worth a visit maybe just avoid the crab cakes.
